I can only hope that when I am older I have a voice as commanding, deep, and real as Mr. Leonard Cohen's. On "Darkness," that smokey baritone is front and center, just as it should be. Cohen's delivery alone has the strength to carry the song -- I can almost envision it as an a cappella piece.
