One of my favorite albums of the young year has been Toro Y Moi's Anything In Return . It might not be the "best" of 2013 when all is said and done, but it's a solidly enjoyable album from start to finish, and it achieves Chaz Bundick's stated goal of releasing a pop album. Fresh off the release of his latest Toro y Moi album "Anything In Return", Bay Area's own Chaz Bundick is ready to drop another 123 under his dance-oriented moniker, Les Sins. The new release includes the new house jams "Grind" and "Prelims" and will be released through Caribou's label, Jiaolong. Our favorite cut is "Grind", which you can stream above. It sounds so good. Dan Snaith's aka (Caribou / Daphni ) imprint Jiaolong is continuing its journey into uncharted electronic waters, unlike the majority of electronic labels out there, ' Jiaolong ' isnt succumbing to the temptation of current market trends. When you think who's behind the label you'd imagine it wouldnt be too difficult for Snaith to sign up any number of illustrious producer, however this is yet to happen and consequently Jiaolong is building a sustainable and rewarding legacy for itself. Les Sins is Chaz Bundick, Chaz Bundick is Toro y Moi , obviously this is going to be ridiculously good. It's a little world away from Toro, it's quite housey for a start. But there is just as much intelligence and brilliance behind Les Sins as in any other Toro project. The below tracks will be released as a double-sided single later this month under Caribou 's Jiaoulong label (a perfect fit).
As Toro y moi Chazwick Bundick already had a way with turntables, disc spinners and all the electronic trappings that make us think of the Matrix yet produce an uncannily structured and catchy sound. As Les Sins , the South California native takes his chill waves influences and turns them into very lounge-music like track, with strong house influences and even some minimal touches. Hace unas semanas se anunció la creación de JIAOLONG, el nuevo electrónico de Dan Snaith ( Caribou ), que además de editar el primer LP de Daphni , editaría música nueva de Les Sins .
