How on earth did we miss this one? Our fellow blogger Zeugolator did warn us last year but we somehow still managed to oversee it. Winter Gloves are an indie band from Montreal that make incredible indie songs. Their debut About a Girl was released last year and should have been on our top list...but I guess it's never to late. Their track Invisible is just playing endlessly for the last couple of days and the rest of the album is equally briliant. Don't miss it (like we did)! Winter [...]
Seems like just yesterday that I posted Hype Device 3 . Actually it was five minutes ago. I'm posting several of these at once. Shhh! Don't tell! Anyways, back to our weekly round up of "underheard" music that deserves some hype. Set your iPods to stun as we go full steam ahead! (Tom's note: That was probably the lamest thing I've ever written in my life.) [mp3] [...]

I was digging through my inbox today when I came across an unread email from Paper Bag Records . This immediately piqued my interest as Paper Bag Records are behind a number of my favorite Canadian indie albums. The label released Broken Social Scene 's Juno winning You Forgot It in People , and the Stars Juno nominated Heart . Inside the email I found the Montreal indie quartet Winter Gloves and their single Let Me Drive. I was hooked by the track immediately, and absolutely floored by the accompanying music [...]
Featuring angular guitars, lo-fi technology and a flick book, Winter Gloves ' new video looks to be a good one. The Montreal trio's new video genuinely is a work of art, something a bit different to most of the drivel that's out there at the moment. Don't know much about them? No, I didn't either. From the press release: Originally started as a solo project of Charles F. (lead singer/songwriter/wurlitzer), Winter Gloves soon evolved into a four-piece "glock-rock" (har har) ensemble that includes Pat Sayers (drums), Vincent Chalifour (synth) [...]
Winter Gloves - Let Me Drive from Paper Bag Records on Vimeo . __________ Didn't you love making flip books? So time consuming, yet to see the fruits of your labor in all its stick-figure glory, well it was just plain satisfying. Montreal's Winter Gloves revisit their youthful flip-booking exploits in their new video for "Let Me Drive." These Canadians recently released a three song EP aptly titled, Let Me Drive EP , and are set to release their debut full-length, About a [...]
Winter Gloves has just released an excellent new video for their song, "Let Me Drive." The video features a performance from the band displayed using a number of different flip books and was directed by Benjamin Weinstein (Moby, Silverstein, Metric).

I think I can do with one more pair of winter gloves. Take a listen to Winter Gloves , a band started from a 'single microphone in Charles F's downtown Montreal apartment as he tried to piece together the distance he'd covered since growing up in the countryside of a very rural Quebec'. The band have been getting rave reviews opening for the likes of Tokyo Police Club and Jealous Girlfriends ; next month heading out on the road for a two-month Canadian tour. Details below. I'm looking forward to hear the full disc [...]
