Breakbot AKA Thibaut Berland, is a French producer and DJ born in 1981. Anyone who knows me know that I'm a huge fan of his, so when I heard 'Shades Of Black' it's pretty obvious I was gonna be waxing lyrical about it! Maybe a slightly more jazzed up quality on this new Flying Lotus tune. It sort of carries a similar aesthetic to Roy Ayers more mellow '70's material. Add to that Fly Lo's usual haul of killer polyrhythms and rich ambient textures and you're left smoothing out to a pretty sick track. "Caravan of Delight" will feature on the new Ed Banger release King of Limbs Let the Children Techno expect quality shit from Skream, Mr. Oizo and SebastiAn to also feature on the compilation. [...]

Jeudi dernier avait lieu la soirée Let The Children Techno dans le cadre des Echo Sonore sur Lyon. Pour l'occasion, et en sachant que la compilation dont je parlais ici sort dès lundi, le marchandising était boosté par du nouveau matos. Vous pouviez donc retrouver les nouveaux tee-shirts déjà présent sur Cool Cats, ainsi que l'écharpe, quelques goodies, la compilation et enfin les affiches. Déjà huit ans, et oui le Ed Banger Crew se fait vieux ! Vous savez très bien qu'ils ne font jamais les choses à moitié, je pense que cette soirée est un bon exemple. Breakbot has been quiet of late, but he has found time to make a track for Ed Banger's latest compilation 'Let The Children Techno' - the compilation is mixed by Busy P and DJ Mehdi is all about Techno. This track is not techno - so don't worry - but it is a funk-tastic track as is probably worth getting the compilation just for this track alone. It's that good.
