Ingenuity has never really been one my strengths, so I'm borrowing last year's title as well as last year's illustration . I cannot help thinking that this post is somewhat of a contradiction, as I normally don't shy away from expressing my dislike of Christmas in general. Not that I dislike everything about it, as I'm obviously enjoying the food, the beers (especially) and the days off. But the buying Christmas gifts madness, people "having" to see friends and families (whom we normally don't care shit about the rest of year), kids acting like little angels etc. make me [...]

Yawn! So here's yet another Christmas themed post in the blogger universe compiling endless of useless Christmas tunes. Dull I know, but since I promised to post one a while ago , I definitely intend to keep my word. So today (it's the 8th), tomorrow, the day after and so on, I'm going to scan my mailbox, computer, the www etc. for nice Christmas tunes to share (and will do my utmost only to post the real good ones, meaning that I'm probably going to include several from years before). Will also try to share only what's already [...]
Finally it's December; the month of Christmas. And finally the day has arrived where it's completely ok to start posting Christmas songs and (more importantly) share my wishlist for Christmas. And kicking off with the later, I do think my wishes are once again very modest and reasonable, as the list has been trimmed down to include just one thing; Keira Knightley ! Who, when I think of it, has been the only "thing" on my yearly wishlist for the past many years ! But despite my humble wish, I have a nagging feeling [...]

Since 2004, Philly-based rock band Liam and Me has been working to create perfect pop songs. They're the kind of musicians who love a great hook paired with a great arrangement, big hits with a sense of music history. So far they've toured the US with their catalogue of hot dance tracks and cruising anthems with an overwhelmingly positive response and major label attention. Taking cues from synth rock pioneers, classic pop song writers, and contemporary indie rock, Liam and Me hit the studio this year with producers Wired All Wrong (Hellogoodbye, White Tie Affair, Beck) [...]
New York alternative rock group Lights Resolve have teamed up with Fender Guitar and Alternative Press Magazine to present an evening of art and music that's open to all ages at New York City's Highline Ballroom. This Long Island three piece will perform their powerful rock reminiscent of UK group Muse alongside fellow area musicians TV/TV , Liam and Me and This Condition . During musical performances, the acts will be complemented by the art of Tattfoo . Tattfoo [...]

Seriously, I love these guys, and have for quite a while now. But when the heck is the album coming out? How can so much awesomeness be constrained to a Myspace and Purevolume page? If you're not familiar, the Philly natives sound like the soundtrack to your freshman year of college. It's well refined synth pop that was clearly designed to get stuck in your head all throughout whatever boring thing it is you do during the day to make money or simulate the act of making money (school). Basically, what I'm saying is, [...]
Photo credit: Greg Szeto MP3: We Are Scientists - The Great Escape This is going to be brief as I have a lot on my plate and in my mind. I don't think it's possible for We Are Scientists to not have, and as a corollary not be, fun in performance. It's etched into their personalities, and thankfully this fun-loving trait is shared with a sizable contingent of their fervent fan-base. For a [...]

You know it is December when you cannot open your mailbox or check the Myspace bulletins, without seeing the word "Christmas" in the headline of just about every second message. Not that I mind at all, as most of the Christmas tunes I've checked out so far this year have been rather good. But in an attempt to prevent the Christmas songs from dominating my other posts, I've set up this one which I intend to update throughout the month, whenever something interesting pops up. + Snowden - White [...]

I was expressing my concern to Nora last night over the fact that I have booked Liam and Me last on Saturday night, taking the stage at midnight. You see, this band has a certain affect on me. I can't stand still. And I find the need to boogie in the most embarrassing fashion. And after about four hours of drinking PBR, this could get messy. And I couldn't be more excited. I specificially the first time I saw this band . I was [...]
No fun. The reason they were dead is because, well, my host had a major meltdown and so I have to re-upload all of the files. So far, I've done the most recent post, and I'll go back, probably about eight posts worth of files. Anyhow, here's what's new and what's good for me, Ben. Liam & Me - Say It Out Loud : These guys from West Philadelphia have just actually gone over to the UK to start promotions (in the way that We Are Scientists did), and their sound is really [...]
