If you don't like Cancer Bats , we're not sure we can stay friends. If you also don't like Turbowolf , well...let'd not even talk about that. If you don't like Brutality Will Prevail ...okay, we;ll let that one pass. Anyhow, all three of them packed out London's KOKO on Friday night for Cancer Bats' largest UK headline show to date. That's why we're going on about them in a spurious intro paragraph, obviously. We sent Gavin Lloyd along to see if the Bats were up to the challenge. (HINT: they were). [...]
The might GWAR will never settle for a game-tying field goal.
Cancer Bats might have missed their chance to pop their Main Stage cherry at Download Festival 2012 (cheers for that, British weather), but Leeds Festival 2012 was a different story. In front of the joint-biggest crowd of their career (tied with Leeds' sister-festival, Reading, of course), Liam Cormier and co. smashed it . Lucky for us, our man Gobinder Jhitta was on hand to document their victory with his camera - and he did so from onstage. We've got another gallery of Leeds Festival [...]

There are so many regular features about what sick tattoos bands have got and what awesome trainers they're wearing, but what about their haircare regime? How do they get their hair looking so cool? HOW? You were thinking it, so we asked it. What shampoo do you use, Liam Cormier of Cancer Bats? "I don't. I don't wash my hair ever. I barely use a comb. I'm the most slack. My girlfriend gets so pissed at me because I literally don't do anything to my hair [...]

The sandwich is possibly the greatest food-based invention. We need to be able to eat and post on Facebook at the same time. Sandwiches allow us to do this. The best thing about sandwiches, however, is that anybody can eat them. Vegetarian? Put some more salad in. Belly doesn't like wheat? Use some gluten-free bread then! And everybody has a favourite sandwich. Even bands... This feature was actually inspired by Liam Cormier. Due to our frequent interviews with Cancer Bats, Liam always takes the piss out [...]
Cancer Bats might've had their Main Stage slot cancelled due to the awful weather that plagued Download Festival 2012, but given that they'd flown all the way over from bleedin' Canada, the Bats weren't gonna go home till they'd shook Download's tits off. Phone calls were made, and Cancer Bats found themselves playing after Gallows over on the Red Bull Stage. And yes, ladies and gentlemen - it was carnage . [...]
Cancer Bats have released one of our favourite albums of 2012 with Dead Set On Living . Cancer Bats did one of the best things we've ever seen a band do with The Pentagram Tour . Cancer Bats are awesome so we caught up with songer Liam Cormier to ask him some crap questions about stuff. -- You sound at your most pissed off on the new record. What's been getting under your skin so much? There are some angry jams mixed in [...]
Cancer Bats Dead Set On Living Hassle Records 16 April 2012 by Tom Dare We quite like Cancer Bats ( had you noticed ?). In fact there aren’t many bands that quite so many of us agree are fucking brilliant. At their best ( Hail Destroyer ), they are in that “so exciting you’re in real danger of injuring yourself” bracket that precious few bands in any era have managed. So if Dead Set [...]
And that's no idle boast. Go check out Cancer Bats ' new video for their track 'Road Sick' (taken from their superb forthcoming album, Dead Set On Living ) after the jump if you don't believe us. Fittingly, the 1994 video that we're referring to is - of course - 'Sabotage' by the Beasties Boys , which the boys in Bats famously covered as a single/bonus track from their last album. Now all we need is for the Beastie Boys to cover [...]
Cancer Bats have cut the crap and kept it simple for their video to 'Old Blood' , the first single to be taken from their upcoming fourth studio album, Dead Set On Living. Then again, given that the very essence of Cancer Bats is a bunch of guys going seven shades of apeshit in tiny, confined rooms, it more than captures the energy that's made these Canadians such perennial favourites here in the UK. Watch the video to 'Old Blood' by Cancer Bats: [...]
Fresh from treating us to 'Old Blood' , the first taster they've given the world of their forthcoming fourth studio album , Dead Set On Living , those spiky Canadians, Cancer Bats, have unveiled yet another scheme to remind us of how much we love them. Like the title says, on April 21, the foursome are coming to London to play six shows, in five different venues, all within the space of just 24 hours. And to add that little extra bit of spice, the five venues they've settled upon just so happen to be in the form of [...]
The Bohemia Stage fits Cancer Bats so well - they tore the place to shreds back in 2009, and they were back again this year to tear it up again in 2011. As much as we'd love to see the Bats up on the Saturn or even the Apollo Stage, the Canadians sweaty beatdowns just [...]
FEATURING MEMBERS OF DRAGONFORCE, A LIFE ONCE LOST, ALL SHALL PERISH, CANCER BATS, THE ACCUSED, AIRBOURNE, ABSU, WOE, WHILE SHE SLEEPS, DIAMOND PLATE, MALEFICE, AND MUTANT SUPREMACY For 2010, we decided to do something special as part of our regular end-of-year festivities here at MetalSucks — namely, ask musicians from across the vast spectrum of [...]
Bring Me The Horizon have decided that playing some massive, massive shows in tiny little venues across the UK is a good idea. We agree. That's why we sent Ben Gibson along to see the Sheffield natives play a home county gig at Leeds Cockpit. Cancer Bats were supporting. We agree with that too.
Do you remember The Volcano? The one from Iceland with the unpronounceable name? That grounded every damn plane in Europe for a week, and stranded Cancer Bats in the UK? We know a hell of a lot has gone on since then - a general election, the arrest of that cannibal serial killer guy who killed [...]
Let's just get straight down to business: the almighty Canuck quartet, Cancer Bats, have released a video to their actually-pretty-fucking-awesom e cover of the Beastie Boys' 'Sabotage'. And in the the few minutes before some wise-ass makes a copy of it and uploads it onto YouTube, all you need to do to see it is spread [...]
Cancer Bats III: Bears, Mayors, Scraps & Bones Hassle Records Spring 2010 What they’re saying Speaking to the guys over at Rocksound Magazine, Cancer Bats frontman Liam Cormier describes how he came up with unusual title for the Canadian's third studio album: "I got the album title in a dream probably three or four days while I was listening to Smashing [...]
Gallows Grey Britain Warner Brothers ETA Spring 2009 What they’re saying Simon Neil of Biffy Clyro , Eva Spence of Rolo Tomassi and Liam Cormier of Cancer Bats are supplying some guest vocals on the album. Gallows are calling in their mates to help them out. Liam Cormier told Kerrang! There’s some serious mid-'90s hardcore groove on the album. This is the first time [...]
No matter how you look at it, it's been a killer year for Cancer Bats . When they rolled into south-est London for a warm-up show before hitting Hard Rock Hell, we sent Hugh Platt down to re-affirm they slay. “In case you didn’t know, we’re from Canada,” Cancer Bats frontman Liam Cormier drawls through a grin so wide it looks like it’s about to crack his face in two. “And we’re gonna squeeze out every last drop of maple syrup for you [...]
