Big news coming out of the CHVRCHES camp today, as the band have announced a number of extremely important details surrounding their debut album. So first off the bat, the band WILL be releasing a debut full length album, which probably isn't that exciting on it's own. To spice things up a little, it has also been announced that the LP will be titled, The Bones Of What You Believe. And the bad boy is to be released in Australia on 20 th September via Liberator Music [...]
With his lofty EP Liberation on the horizon, Russian drum and bass producer Enei gives fans a preview of his forthcoming EP by way of a massive new tune called Headtop . Built around an accosting low-end and Chimpo's rude lyrics, Headtop should please fans of the dirtiest bass music, while the official video will supply a few laughs to boot. The tune's syncopated rhythm is anything but typical, providing a slight variation on the 170bpm genre. The Liberation EP will [...]
TAKING their name from George "Dubya" Bush's name for the countries he managed to rope into a war with Iraq, jazz drummer Bobby Previte's rotating supergroup The Coalition Of The Willing's eponymous 2006 album is a liberating listen. Forging jazz with classic rock sensibilities, forceful militaristic drumming and a funky edge, this post-jazz masterpiece is a revolution. Featuring talent such as saxophonist Skerik of Syncopated Taint Septet fame and mind-bogglingly talented jazz guitarist Charlie Hunter, the tracks pay homage to jazz greats such as Miles Davis but sound more at home in the rock bracket. So I [...]

Earlier this week, a company called "Defense Distributed" issued a blueprint which would allow people to 3D print their own guns at home for free (provided they have 3D printers). So far, there have been over 100,000 downloads of what they're calling "The Liberator." It's a bit ironic that the company calls itself "Defense Distributed." It's pretty unlikely that someone who would need to print a gun at home would be using it for self defense. These guns, you see, are untraceable. Even in the United States, where there is essentially no gun control [...]

Liberation ...the state of being liberated... and/or a movement seeking equal rights and status for a group. This track by Sound Remedy seeks equal rights to listen to good music. Any song that starts off with what sounds like a synth xylophone is worth listening to in my book. If you would, please throw in some egg shaker, boomin bass, and a catchy hook...you've got yourself a stew. Sound Remedy is always kickin it up a level from their last release and this track is no different. Liberation , is a truly liberating tune...it makes [...]
Los Angeles dubstep producer Sound Remedy's newest output is a seven minute miniature epic entitled "Liberation." Opening with some clean chord progressions reminiscent of Deadmau52s "Strobe," the track proceeds to carefully build into the joyful, high-pitched dubstep that has come to define Sound Remedy's style. Another moving build up and resurgence follow before the track concludes with a final echoing and emotional drop. For a producer who has made a name for himself with evocative remixes, it's encouraging to see him release a clean, intriguing original. You can pick up all of Sound Remedy's music for free off of his SoundCloud [...]
If you're in the mood for a 7-minute long escapade across the electronic music landscape then look no further. Sound Remedy released "Liberation" to the masses yesterday, and I'm having a brutal time listening to anything else. As soon as you hit play, you'll forget whatever the hell you were ... Read More

Sound Remedy is back with a stunning original, Liberation. Packed to the brim with emotion, this whole piece just raises your heart, and leaves you feeling like you have been on a journey right back to your earliest childhood memories. I'm on my third listen, and I am utterly in love. Goosebumps, really.
Ok, so this guy seems to be doing a fair bit right lately. He's just signed with Liberation and is releasing a new EP in the next couple of weeks (pre-order here). Vance Joy's latest track, 'From Afar' has gone pretty gangbusters...and the clip is, by far, one of the best I've seen. If [...]

The Jello Biafra version, updated for the 90's: I cried when they shot John Lennon Tears ran down my spine And I cried when I saw "JFK" As if I'd lost a father of mine But Malcom-X and Ice-T had it coming They got what they asked for this time So love me, love me, love me, [...]

New Gods - On Your Side by Liberation Music Oz New Gods (terrible name) is the band that Dominic Byrne and Adrian Beltrame from Little Red have found happier times in. A subtle line in their bio suggests they are ready to move on; so together with Richard Bradbeer on bass (Eagle and The Worm), Sam Raines on drums, and Dale Packard on keys (Ground Components) they have formed a sonic-prog, dance-rock, indie-pop band. I throw all these terms at this band because there is a lot packed into 'On You Side'. [...]

Major Lazer is back and teamed up with Amber Coffman of Dirty Projectors to deliver some beautiful soundscapes and heavy lyrics that immediately give me flashbacks to Coachella 2010. Major Lazer and Dirty Projectors where highlights for me that magical/inspirational weekend, especially Dirty Projectors who helped my mind grow exponentially in all directions. Keep an eye out for officially release dates for Major Lazer album and tour and go here for Dirty Projects summer tour schedule. Big ups to our long lost Dank Radio comrade D$ for putting me up on this one, its definitely [...]

The Temper Trap has been one of my all-time favorite bands to listen to wherever I am and whatever I'm doing. This Australian band's album Conditions was released more or less 2 1/2 years ago and after having their single "Sweet Disposition" featured on (500) Days Of Summer (or as I like to sometimes refer to as 500 Days Of Bummer; you'll get it if you watch the movie), they were launched into the mainstream and almost everyone around me knew who they were, even if they didn't listen to a whole lot of indie rock music. I [...]

Following on from Mel T's interview with Geoffrey O’ Connor . I spoke to Husky Gawenda of Husky , another Australian band set to play the Laneway Festival circuit this summer. Husky have had a lot of love on the site for their singles and live shows. In October they released their debut record 'Forever So' and have been touring the country playing to sold out crowds and very happy fans. I started by asking about the release of 'Forever So'. We finished the record last year so we were [...]
