We got some of our best new tracks this week inside this 55th edition of our popular Sundaze Playlist . As usual, Paul Grelet designed the cover art, and yet again strikes a soft spot. Thanks to all the artists featured and of course to Paul Grelet for his creation. Check out Sundaze #55 and download it for free when you like us on Facebook : Like us + Download Sundaze #55 [...]

The problem with the internet is that people's opinions can influence your expectations too much. I realised this after seeing the Knife at the Roundhouse on Wednesday. I had made the mistake of reading the bad reviews on the internet and was expecting the show to be embarrassing, boring, weird and perhaps a waste of my money and time. It was no Silent Shout tour but I found it incredibly fun and also slightly strange (dance aerobics) but perhaps no stranger than a Bjork show. Yes [...]

Halfway House has been a long time fan of Ben Kyle ever since he captured our ears attention with Romantica - thus we welcomed the opportunity to host a living room show with the Belfast/Minneapolis native. While he was present we thought we'd convince him to record a Halfway House Session with us. Thankfully - he played along and was kind enough to oblige. The results were what you'd expect from a talent such as Ben Kyle and @ the very least allows the viewer to catch a glimpse of the awesome that they missed [...]

The Great Pyramid of Giza. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon. The Statue of Zeus at Olympia. The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus. The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus. The Colossus of Rhodes. The Lighthouse of Alexandria. The Seven Wonders of the World . You'd think that by now, the 21st Century, someone somewhere might fancy updating that list. I think I missed the appeal when they were asking folk to write in with their suggestions for the 8th wonder, but if it's not too late, I'm putting forward the Glasgow Barrowlands for inclusion. [...]

MS MR is a hugely rising and well-documented favorite artist of mine for their dark and spooky glitch pop. Their music is dark and moody and transcendent into the dark part of all of us. when I met member Lizzy Plapinger - she was the embodiment of everything MS MR's music is not - sunny, bubbly and warm. She is one of those people whose kindness is so sincere it's infectious. As Lizzy puts it, "I think people have been surprised to meet us at shows... we are sunny and the music is moody. It's easier for us [...]
HD Video by G. The Johnny Marr concert last week in Brooklyn was so epic, it's hard to even put it into words. Just to see Johnny play the guitar was a treat, but also his new solo album "The Messenger" is great, he played a handful of Smiths songs, Andy Rourke of The Smiths guested on stage giving us probably the closest thing to a Smiths reunion that we'll ever see and also did a pair of songs by Electronic! Wow! The video you are about to see is "Getting Away With It," the first single by [...]

Those who headed to the Gap store at The Grove in Los Angeles Thursday evening (May 9) for Styld.by's special summer celebration were treated to an intimate performance by singer-songwriter Skylar Grey . The pop artist performed tracks from her upcoming album Don’t Look Down (out July 9) as part of the brand's summer kickoff party. First impressions are the most lasting, and Skylar started the event right on time, earning her serious anti-diva points for punctuality. The Wisconsin native kicked off the set at the piano with "Wear Me [...]

Videos have made a resurgence in the past few years since the "official" days of MTV died an unwarranted death. Maybe it is because things are easier to do with the great camera/recording equipment now, maybe there is more creative types in full view, I think it might be a bit of both. For me, I tend to stick to 'my people' for videos and I have a couple people among them that are doing good things. Halfway House out in Michigan and Show Me Shows down in St. Louis in particular are getting the love today. [...]

Kurt Vile took the stage Tuesday night at the jam-packed Echoplex looking as if he just walked out of his "Never Run Away" video — maybe his all-white persona is here to stay. As he did at Coachella , Vile delivered his songs from beneath his voluminous hair, keeping it low-key and letting the music, rather than the guitarist himself, connect with the audience. His backing band the Violators ebbed on and off the stage throughout the night, giving Vile a chance to also show off some of his acoustic versions of his hits. When left [...]

Still sweating from their first headlining gig at Espace B yesterday evening, I bring you today the total awesomeness that is Blue Hawaii live. Do not be fooled by the relative calm aura to the tracks they've posted here and there on the interwebs. This duo from Montreal, signed to the same record gang Arbutus, also home to Grimes, Majical Cloudz and many others from 'that' very talented and forthcoming Canadian scene. A live performance by Blue Hawaii is what you need to witness first and foremost. While their material sounds gentle and soothing on your home-stereo, the [...]
![Jos. Fortin & Her Harbour @ Raw Sugar Cafe [May 8, 2013]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4941045_lg.jpg)
Went to a nice intimate show at the Raw Sugar Cafe on May 8th. It was a last minute decision but I wanted to come and support these musicians. Playing at the show: • Jos. Fortin • Her Harbour It wasn't a few weeks ago that I went to Her Harbour's CD Release show. This time it was more of a strip down set which it [...]

Field Report and HearYa - a match made in indie-folk heaven? I definitely think this now. The Milwaukee boys turned up in Chicago in a blizzard and heartily performed 4 tracks. These 4 songs are now available for immersing yourself inside...completely. The latest album from Field Report is a square kick in the gut of an album and it continues to impress with the additional sessions the band is performing lately. The songs are growing, flexing, gaining additional character (if possible). I like that as a band, Field Report are performing their songs in almost original form each time you [...]

Veteran Brit rockers Spacemen 3 are being given another shot on the store shelves - their discography will be re-issued on lovely 180 gram vinyl by Fire Records . Their 1988 live album 'Performance' featuring 'Take Me To The Other Side' will be re-issued next week. This tune will take you back to their loud and drugged-out beginnings! Spacemen 3 - 'Take Me To The Other Side' (Live) [...]
