Stream: Elvis Depressedly - "Pepsi/Coke Suicide" Elvis Depressedly has dropped a new track from the upcoming release, Holo Pleasures and it really feels like steady improvement. Mat Cothran has been recording this album with his full band and it really shows with the fullness of the sound. In many ways the instrumentation feels warm on this track, but if you are familiar with Cothran at all you know that his lyrics are going to directly conflict with that. It creates an air of uneasy comfort and it really makes the song stick out, [...]
![Conspirator – Unleashed EP : Live Instrument Melody Driven Dubstep EP [Free Download] [TSIS PREMIERE]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4756687_lg.jpg)
Conspirator , the 4 piece band fusing live instruments and electronic elements have just released their Unleashed EP. The group features Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner of The Disco Biscuits , guitarist Chris Michetti, and Pendelum tour drummer KJ Sawka. Their live instrument / electronic blend delivers some powerful yet melody driven dubstep bangers that hit hard. The end result of the instruments and heavy bass sounds unlike anything I have ever heard. They have been nice enough to pass us the free download on the project, and it is also available through iTunes. Enjoy! [...]

CLICK IMAGE TO VIEW VIDEO Newness, straight out of Germany, from our brothers over at Melting Pot Music. Sounding oh so funky, loving this. The Ruffcats are one Gemany's hardest working live bands. When it comes to heavy funk and progressive soul stylings, their ain't no competition for the 8 piece group from Berlin. RuffCats: Facebook •J• [...]

There used to be a time when large-scale disco bands ruled the popular music landscape. They were made up of a large group of musicians that played live instruments, rather than making the programmed electronic music that is much more popular nowadays. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but there's nothing quite as exciting as seeing a live dance band, especially one that's made up of a lot of talented musicians. Luckily this type of band is making a big comeback recently, and Phenomenal Handclap Band has been one of my favorites to emerge from this new [...]

It's always have a blast shooting Tycho . This time around I ( Shelby ) shot the guys playing in Portland at the Crown Room and in Seattle at Bumbershoot. Instead of shooting mostly digital, I shot with my Yashica T4 exclusively. Something about about the very raw film and lack of manual exposure control on the camera really makes me never want to put it down. Also since it’s pocket-sized, I’m able to carry it around all the time. Hit the jump to view more .

Today I've got a real chill ep perfect for summer, it's got the laid back hip hop sound that I love. It's called Illusion and it's by iLLPHONiCS, a 5 piece group based out of St. Louis. It's got a rapper, then live drummer, keys, guitar and bass giving it a real organic sound, and mixed with the lead singer's flow makes a real sick combo. It's got a live jam band meets rap, can't wait to hear more from these guys. Give it a listsen, and download the whole thing, each track sounds little a different. Enjoy! [...]

There are few artists who have remained interesting to me over the span of several years. Inevitably, I become bored with the style of an artist's sound and move on to the next. Trentemøller however, has never ceased to enthrall me, probably due to the fact that his sound has never remained the same for very long. Although his particular element of personal style clearly shines through in every production and DJ set, the manner of delivery is continuously shifting, from albums full of minimal techno, to DJ sets brimming with dark rock & roll, to performances with [...]

John Garner headed over to Relentless Garage last week to catch up with Gaoler's Daughter a band I have particularly enjoyed over-time. John had a different take on the night to what I had expected, prior to receiving his gig review. Gaoler's Daughter This was certainly a gig of two halves, the first half of which was extremely disappointing. The band started off with a few new songs which they were clearly quite nervous about and this led to [...]

5 Live Bands To See In 2011. As we get further into 2011, we can almost feel summer lurking around the corner with the promise of festivals, barbecues, misguided shorts revealing comedy white legs and let's face it, torrential rain.... However being the eternal optimist the mere thought of sunshine induces giddy anticipation as we dust down the trusty mankini and ready it for another outing. And so to match the (almost) new season how about checking out some [...]

A member of a famous metal band who probably wishes to remain anonymous has said to me on more than one occasion that he believes Soilwork are a good live band, but not a great live band, and that they were only ever great [in the U.S.] one time: Ozzfest 2005. I was really surprised [...]
