They teamed up with Montreal's Seapoint to fabricate an atmospheric bass churner that hits incredibly deep in all fields. ARAB SPRING by Literature Literature is a pop rock group whose sound has a lotta jangle and a little lo-fi. It's a familiar angle, but the songwriting is too catchy for me to ignore, reminding me a lot of groups like Smith Westerns. While most tracks on this Literature LP have a happy-go-lucky vibe, they never stray too far from their rough and sorta rowdy rock attitude, keeping these tracks from getting too sweet. Gap Dream is a new band from Cleveland, OH (apparently Cleveland is a hot bed for indie rock, who knew). Lo-fi indie rock appears to be this band's genre. 58th St. Fingers has a cool vibe to it, starting from the opening of the song, which has a nice little guitar riff going on. Taking a page right out of the 802s revival / Drive retro book, one of the chillwave genre's flagbearers Neon Indian has teamed up with the wacky minds at Adult Swim to bring you his latest music video for swirly single, "Fallout." Cars, neon colors and big-bosomed women are at the forefront of the Knight Rider -ish animated visual accompaniment and, well, you have to witness the madness yourself to see how it all comes together.
Beach Fossil's 2010 self-titled album was a summery album, an album that didn't take too seriously at making people weep and sway, but a loose jammer that reminded people of something in the lines of the The Stroke's Is This It . Their new song, "Shallow", brings back the bands senseless ability to display whistle-worthy guitar riffs. Beach Fossils is following the same path as they did on their self-titled album and is recreating a beach landscape that made their self-titled album played all summer long.
