Lupe Fiasco just recently released his first single off of his new album Food and Liquor 2 . It hadn't been out for a whole day and it was met with controversy. The song "Around My Way (Freedom Ain't Free)" features a sample from the song "They Reminisce Over You" (TROY) by Pete Rock and CL Smooth . Lupe Fiasco has debuted the lead single from his upcoming record, Food & Liquor II . “Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free)  definitely sounds familiar as it samples this classic Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth “ T.R.O.Y. ” While the track certainly sees Lupe return to a more underground, lyric focused material, he has managed to piss off yet another person. Here's a first look at the debut single off Lupe's upcoming album Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album. A lot of controversy surrounding this one on the blogosphere tonight. First off, he straight up jacked Pete Rock's beat from "T.R.O.Y.", and I understand that it's a sample - but there are just some tracks that shouldn't be altered, and this is one of them. It's a shame that Lupe is crumbling with his releases after giving all of the fans so much fire during the early years of his career. I get the fact that LASERS was manufactured by the label, but after that horrendous dubstep mixtape and hearing this, I might have to officially call it quits on listening to him. Lupe dropped his new single for Food And Liquor 2 via Facebook today. Lupe kicks so ill bars over a nice flip of Pete Rock & CL Smooth's Reminisce . It looks like Lupe is tacking stabs at the government and politics and with a beat choice like this, is planning to make F & L 2 a classic. Check it out below.
