Lupe Fiasco just recently released his first single off of his new album Food and Liquor 2 . It hadn't been out for a whole day and it was met with controversy. The song "Around My Way (Freedom Ain't Free)" features a sample from the song "They Reminisce Over You" (TROY) by Pete Rock and CL Smooth . Lupe Fiasco is currently in Chicago, and visited WGCI's Morning Riot.  He spoke to hosts Tony Scofield and Leon Rogers about his forthcoming album, and Pete Rock's tirade in response to Lupe's new single, "Freedom Ain't Free".  Pete Rock was displeased that Lupe Fiasco's new single sampled his classic record, "T.R.O.Y." with CL Smooth.  Lupe said he was surprised because of the amounts of remakes already out, and said they also cleared the sample with Pete.  He talks more about his creative process and more. Here's a first look at the debut single off Lupe's upcoming album Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album. A lot of controversy surrounding this one on the blogosphere tonight. First off, he straight up jacked Pete Rock's beat from "T.R.O.Y.", and I understand that it's a sample - but there are just some tracks that shouldn't be altered, and this is one of them.
