Lupe Fiasco 's been a fan of Thom Yorke's for a minute—remember that CRS track over his "The Eraser" cut?—so it's no surprise that the Chicago rapper is digging Yorke's latest project, Atoms for Peace. That fact is apparent on "Animal Pharm", which finds Fiasco getting conceptual over AMOK standout " Ingenue ". If you haven't read the inspiration for this track, George Orwell's Animal Farm , you should probably put that on your summer reading list. You can stream the song below.
Lupe Fiasco shared another new track that won't end up on his upcoming album Tetsuo & Youth with the Twitterverse late last night. "Jonylah Forever," with a solemn Lupe at the mic, is a requiem of sorts for the tragically slain six month old baby, Jonylah Watkins, who died of gun shot wounds earlier this week. Lupe , who made headlines this year for his somewhat tactless political discourse, exercises restraint here and instead of politicizing the death of baby Jonylah, he makes clear what was lost this week. Without question, one of the most heartbreaking stories in recent memory is the murder of 6-month-old Jonylah Watkins , who died earlier this week after she and her father were shot in Chicago. Upon hearing the news, Lupe Fiasco put pen to paper and began writing a song dedicated to Watkins and this beyond-tragic event, "Jonylah Forever". Frequent collaborator Soundtrakk handles the fittingly somber production. Lu delivered the track with the following note: Not a song but a life. Be respectful Please keep negative comments to yourself. #lovelifechitownforever Listen below.
It's nice to hear about some music from Lupe Fiasco; the embattled emcee has been in the headlines for just about everything else recently. "Light Blue" is not a cut from his forthcoming Tetsuo & Youth album (which is taking the place of the second part to Food and Liquor II as Lupe's 2013 album release), but it's a solid release that should reassure fans that he's keeping things together enough to rap well. And for everyone wondering about the album title, Tetsuo takes its name from a Japanese cult film , we think. [...]

Late last night Lupe Fiasco took to his Twitter last night to release a new track titled "Light Blue". The DJ SimonSayz produced track will not appear on his upcoming album Tetsuo & Youth. Interesting. Listen below.

In case you missed it, Lupe Fiasco apparently announced the name of his next album during an interview/now-deleted stream of tweets during the Grammy Awards. He's calling it Tetsuo & Youth and so far, we're not sure what to expect musically from the Chicago native. That remains true even though he just dropped a new track, "Light Blue", which he noted will not appear on the album. Even so, it could be a preview/teaser of the sound he's utilizing these days, and it's one that again finds him leaning on synth-heavy production. For the [...]

In the following clip Lupe sits down with Peter Bailey of NBC for a " NiteCap " interview while in Miami headlining U of M's homecoming. In the interview Lu goes in depth explaining the examples of duality within the industry, as well as touching more on Chicago Hip-Hop and the role he now plays. Peep the two-part interview after the jump.
Here's the latest from Lupe Fiasco 's upcoming album, Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album . It's a heavy, disturbing track dealing with religious intolerance, fanaticism and child abuse. Food & Liquor II is out September 25th. Read more articles like " New Lupe Fiasco: "Lamborghini Angels" " on Pretty Much Amazing . Tags: Lupe Fiasco

Lupe Fiasco 's latest single, "Lamborghini Angels", comes with the following warning: If you are easily offended or religiously sensitive DO NOT listen to #LamborghiniAngels it contains very strong subject matter. With that in mind, I get the strong feeling that you're going to have to listen to the Food & Liquor 2 joint multiple times to truly digest what it means. I hear mentions of pedophilia, religious folks using their power for evil, and the like, which sounds appropriate given the track's title and his warning. What do y'all think? [...]
Lupe Fiasco , back to dishing out some warm social criticism, delves into the proliferation and sometimes misinterpretation of the word "bitch" in hip hop. Lupe's always been good at skirting the thin line between self-righteousness and imparting old-for-his-age sage wisdom, and "Bitch Bad" is a welcome return to form. Lupe Fiasco's FOOD & LIQUOR 2: The Great American Rap Album PT.1 is out September 25th. Listen to "Bitch Bad" below: Continue reading: New Lupe Fiasco: "Bitch Bad" Read more articles like " New [...]
Today has been a crazy day for new music, what with the free EP from Ski Beatz and Camp Lo, unearthed Guru freestyle , and that Oh No and DOOM single . But it's now a touch more insane thanks to Lupe Fiasco, who just dropped the lead single off Food & Liquor II . It's called "Around My Way (Freedom Ain't Free)" and features the Chicago spitter getting political (of course) over a sample of Pete Rock & CL Smooth's "They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.)". Sounds good, right? Let us know. Listen below.
Bassnectar is a DJ well known for his prolific releases and closeness to his own following. "Vava Voom" , his ninth LP since 2001, continues to explore the same sounds and themes with an expected familiarity that is quickly becoming predictable. Twisting drum and bass, dubstep and hip-hop into a moray of driving dance music, a style that has spawned a million imitators in the past few years. The opening and titular track, "Vava Voom" , features the impeccable rapper Lupe Fiasco . A known Bassnectar [...]

Bassnectar throws Lupe Fiasco in on his usual house, dubstep sound and it actually works pretty well. Bassnectar will be performing up on Temple's campus on April 20th. When I saw Girl Talk and Pretty Lights at the Liacouras Center, it was an amazing show. Hopefully fans are in for something similar when Bass comes thru. Lupe Fiasco delivers a new track out of nowhere titled "American Terrorist III" . It appears that he's forgotten how to count as there's no Pt. Deux anywhere to be found but whatever, we'll take the new track Lupe. Thank you very much. Give it a spin below and let us know what you're making of it after a few listens.
Lupe Fiasco gets in the holiday spirit by giving away a new mixtape. Friend Of The People was originally supposed to drop back in 2009, but I guess he reworked it and decided to use it as a hold-over until he drops part two of the Food And Liquor series. Stream the Cloud of the tape's closer that samples "Midnight City" by M83. I can't stop listening to that song. DOWNLOAD THE FRIEND OF THE PEOPLE: I FIGHT EVIL [...]

![[Listen] Patrick Stump - "This City" Feat. Lupe Fiasco](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3554642_lg.jpg)
We gotta another Rock (or in this case former Rock gone Pop) x Hip Hop crossover. Peep the Chicago homaging tune from the former Fall Out Boy frontman, Patrick Stump's long awaited solo album Soul Punk titled "This City" featuring fellow Chicago musician, rapper Lupe Fiasco. FOB fans may be a tad disappointed as Stump has strayed far away from his emo rock band roots into a pop singer/songwriter. Take a listen to the new tune below and also catch Stump's previous track "Explode" here .
Big Sean is really going hard on his soon-to-be-released Finally Famous album. After appearing on Kanye's "All Of The Lights (Remix)" with Lil' Wayne and Drake, he's roped in the Louis Vuitton Don on his latest offering "Marvin Gaye & Chardonnay". This record is said to be a standout from his LP which also features Roscoe Dash, and incidentally sounding a lot like a Roscoe record. The prowess of this production will get you leaning back and forth, there is no doubt about that. Big Sean's Finally Famous: The Album is due out June 28th. [...]
Tweet This post is a “QuickPick”. QuickPicks are my attempt at getting all of the music that’s sent to me that I like (or just music I like but have no words for because it’s so awesome), out into the dubya dots. Any time I get sent music that I like I “star” it in Gmail and then go back and listen to it a day later. If it’s still as good as it was a day before then it goes up on the [...]
