John Fogerty joined the Black Keys , Annie Clark of St. Vincent sang with Andrew Bird, and Thom Yorke came out during Modeselektor's set to perform "Shipwreck." Gotye and Kimbra both showed up on Saturday Night Live handling the musical duties for Josh Brolin. Cette année les organisateurs du Festival Coachella et Youtube ont décidé d'être généreux avec le reste de la planète en offrant la possibilité aux personnes ne se trouvant pas aux environs d'Indio, de voir une bonne partie des shows. Nous avons pu voir dans leurs intégralités les lives de Radiohead, A$AP Rocky, Bon Iver, The Black Keys, M83, et j'en passe. Playing a high energy set to a huge and appreciative crowd (that apparently included Katy Perry), their music seemed to be perfect for the nighttime festival setting, especially album highlight "Midnight City" (which appears in the third section). Upon arriving at the polo grounds for Coachella 2012, it was readily apparent that this festival was nothing like those that I frequent back on the East coast. Gone were the bizarrely dressed, pre-teen ravers replaced instead with fashion-conscious, faux hippies.
