M83 are confirmed to play two massive festivals this year including Coachella and Ultra Music Festival, plus a special show in New York City’s Central Park on August 8th during the 2012 NY Summerstage Season. There have been a whole bunch of remixes of this track out there since the song blew up, and none of them have really done anything for me. The original is just too good...one of my favorite songs of the last few years. Even though I think I will always prefer the pure untouched version, I've listened to it a lot. Eric Prydz has been making noise since 2004 with his track, “Call on Me” that was Number 1 in the UK. Today we have Eric on a remix to “Midnight City” from M83. Prydz pumps the house music into M83 and really turns it upside down while still gripping the core of the track, but doesn’t have the slow verses that the original does. Nice work. The legendary Eric Prydz remixing the ethereal M83 's hit jam of the year Midnight City ? The combo sounds like a dream, and so does the track itself. While the original is a thought evoking, dream inducing, serotonin producing masterpiece, it also leaves alot of room for remixing with the soft vocal and synths.
