So M83 performed this on Fallon weeks ago, and I caught it live but forgot to share it on the site. I just came across a video of them performing "Midnight City" on Last Call With Carson Daly the other night (still can't believe Carson has a television career), but the footage is kind of shitty and you can't really see how simple the piano riff is in the beginning. Which is what has led me to post the Fallon performance. So yeah, it's old. If you haven't seen them play this live though, it's beyond impressive. Tweet

If you didn't, you missed two things of note: 1) The Roots played Fishbone's "Lyin' Ass Bitch" for Michele Bachmann's walk-on song (!) and 2) M83 absolutely nailed their performance of "Midnight City," from their latest release, the double-album Hurry Up, We're Dreaming . So when YuoskaBoob asked me about M83 , I told her I knew they were all over the place but hadn't taken the time to check them out. Good thing I knew her taste isn't godawful and listened because Hurry Up, We're Dreaming is the tits. I know I'm late as hell on "Midnight City", but this song is is great. Midnight City est un album sublime, j'ai honte de ne toujours pas avoir rédigé la chronique de cette perle 2011 d'ailleurs. En attendant le M83 live band a interprété « Midnight City « , l'un des titres phares du LP. Cette courte prestation me rend bien plus impatient de voir un live complet du groupe.
