photography: deChev Frank Haag is known as one of the forward thinking underground techno producers in Amsterdam that challenges electronic music with a deeper sense of understanding. In 2009, Haag remixed old-school techno jock DJ Slip for Thema records, next to Franco Cinelli and Mikael Stavostrand. After that, he released an EP on Thema which resulted [...]
Do you know how much I dislike the name of this band? I've been sitting on this for months, not wanting to write about it and confront the fact that Ma. have a full stop in their name. That's. Bloody. Awful. I haven't disliked a band name this much since mama!milk. That was worse. Oh god, that was worse. Anyway Ma. - look, is it all right if we just call them Tom Challenger's band? He's the tenor sax player, and that's usually reckoned to be the lead instrument. [...]
Photography: Kevin Chung I didn't originally plan to do this because I haven't had anything specifically in mind for the list, but as per several requests, here it is: Album: M+A - Things.yes I haven't listened to too many albums that were released in 2011, but and M+A's debut clearly stood out from the rest. It's a mixture of electronica, indie and distorted vocals, leaving you with a vague feel of delight and happiness after 1 to 43 minutes of listening. [...]

Yes! In time for NYE! This is my favorite year-end list to make because its obviously the most fun. And I give it the least amount of stress. Read on for all my favorite party/dance jams split into three increasingly heated sections. Almost all these tracks could fit into the last one but I had to split them up somehow! There is not much organization here, just grooves for miles. So polish those dancing shoes and get limber because I wanna see you bounce! Note that the list ends with a very appropriate title (and song) for New Years [...]
As he's due to hit our shores early next year, we asked Israeli-born, NYC-based DJ and producer Elon to spread a little early Christmas cheer and share with us his top tracks for December. Fan of underground techno, deep-house, tech-house and the like? You'll be mighty pleased with his picks then! Don't say we don't spoil you.... XDB - Sunda (Brooks Mosher Remix) [Dolly] Loving the automated bass lines, the pads, and the simplicity of the track arrangement. [...]

I love this new video from M+A's Thing.yes debut album which just popped out last week. The young Italian duo make these nice electronic pop jams that remind me of my Japanese electronic binges in the early 2000s. After a few spins, I'm gonna say this is probably my favorite album of November thus far. It's super smooth and you can catch some toe tapping in there as well. Do the right thing and order this album before you catch a cold. You'll be glad you did. Freebies below! Yes.pop [...]
Posted in Music Videos Play-This-List Love this video. Bouncy, jerky goodness. The track is 'Bam' from Italian duo M+A. Michele and Alessandro make intricate electronic pop music to get lost in. I was mesmerized by the above video, and their debut album Things.Yes has since evoked a similar effect. The band are pretty detailed in describing the intention behind their [...]

"I'm looking for something that'll...break through. You know?" James Woods' Max Renn yearns in David Cronenberg's 1983 cult classic Videodrome . Oh, how things have changed. In today's day and age, we've drowned in media. It's swallowed us. We're nothing but a bubble amidst one infinite, engulfing abyss. Intimidated? You should be. With each passing second, you're losing opportunities to take advantage of a culture that's moving ahead and at an exhausting rate. You could very well be alone...left behind...abandoned. Terrified yet? Yes? Well, that's more like it. -Michael Roffman President/Editor-in-Chief
