While Ultra Weekend 1 live sets have been trickling out left and right, only a handful of artists have taken the time to upload their sets themselves. Followving Kaskade's giveaway of his Main Stage set , Porter Robinson, Hardwell, and Nicky Romero, have uploaded their own hour long performances from the behemoth stage. While Kaskade's was notable for its inclusion of original music and seamless mashups, Porter Robinson's mix excels in its breakneck pace, Hardwell delivers one of the best sets of weekend 1, and Nicky Romero pulls out a few IDs to keep [...]

Porter Robinson continued his rise to the top by playing on main stage at the first weekend at this year's Ultra Music Festival . He brought an impressive set spanning from his older agressive electro house sound to his more melodic uplifting progressive side. As he stated "playing there was seriously one of my favorite things ever", and this set shows. The mixing on this mix is through the roof packed with an unheard amount of different tracks featuring countless of his signature bootleg mashup edits. Porter has succesfully been able to transtiion from packed out small clubs [...]

20-year-old Nick Husman is the freshest face to surface from the talent-enriched grounds of the Netherlands. The Echt native is already signed to W&W's Mainstage Music and is best known for his E.D.M./Memories Of You EP and his collaborative remix with Mikkas for Fabio Lendrum . Behind a strong 2012, Husman has carried his momentum into the new year with the release of his new lethal single Ultra . Ultra bridges the gap between intricate, blissful trouse and raw, driving electro. [...]

Gloriously, but blistering heat and a slew of incredible artists and music populated Sydney’s The Domain on new years day for FIELD DAY , proving once again why it is the premium Sydney music festival. As a location for Field Day The Domain is pretty perfect for the festival, not only do all four stages comfortably fit in the area, but there are also huge areas of grass, tress proving shade and lots and lots of room for lots and lots of bars. When first walking into the [...]
Only Festival the iconic rapper will be doing in the UK...
Well, Download Festival has announced their first two headline acts for 2013 - not that we knew that when we recorded episode 14 of the Thrash Hits podcast. Hugh and Tom sta down a mere two hours after Iron Maiden were confirmed (and a whole 14 hours before Rammstein were "officially" confirmed) to talk about the first major festival announcements for 2013, as well as a bit of not-so-idle speculation as to the identity of the as-yet-unnamed third Main Stage headliner. And then because they'd had a couple of beers, they took some time to debate why certain trends and [...]

In addition to those sweet as you like on-stage photos of Cancer Bats' Main Stage triumph we showed you last weekend , our man Gobinder Jhitta took a shedload of photos at this year's Leeds Festival. We basically gave him free rein to go shoot whatever and whoever he wanted, and he didn't let us down - pretty much every band we ranted and/or raved about in our post-Reading & Leeds Festival podcast is featured in his gallery, which you can check out after the jump. [...]
Cancer Bats might have missed their chance to pop their Main Stage cherry at Download Festival 2012 (cheers for that, British weather), but Leeds Festival 2012 was a different story. In front of the joint-biggest crowd of their career (tied with Leeds' sister-festival, Reading, of course), Liam Cormier and co. smashed it . Lucky for us, our man Gobinder Jhitta was on hand to document their victory with his camera - and he did so from onstage. We've got another gallery of Leeds Festival [...]

We can't really remember too much about Behemoth's Friday night headline-set at Bloodstock Festival 2012 as we were way too far gone by the point - luckily for us, our snapper Gary Wolstenholme was on hand to shoot a sweet photo gallery of Nergal and his gang of blackened death metal monsters. -- Behemoth @ Download Festival - 10 August 2012 (c/o Gary Wolstenholme) [...]

Is there anything better than a Thrash Hits Festival Splash Page? Yeah, loads of things but you won't find the best online festival coverage on any of them. You'll find that right here. All our work from Bloodstock Open 2012 is going be linked to from this page (eventually), so give it a bookmark or just don’t close it, because it’s all you’re going to need. Interviews, photos, setlists, rumours, and who knows? - maybe even some tiny reviews - it’s all here. We’ve got the whole crew interviewing bands backstage, [...]

Evile have been moved to the main stage for this year's Bloodstock Open Air festival , which takes place from 9th to 12th August in Walton-On-Trent, UK. The band had previously been set to play on the Sophie Lancaster stage on Sunday, 12th August, but have now been upgraded to the Ronnie James Dio (main) stage, where they will play alongside the likes of Alice Cooper , Dimmu Borgir , Anvil , Nile and more. Evile lead guitarist Ol Drake [...]

Sasquatch! Saturday got off to a gut-wrenchingly good start, with a beautiful performance by Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires . Before Bradley took the stage, his band opened up with a short instrumental solo, then one of the members stepped up to the mic and growled, “Are you ready for the Screamin’ Eagle of Soooooul?” Bradley sashayed out and barely hesitated before launching into the somber “Heartaches and Pain,” a track dedicated to his brother, murdered years before. The devastating loss of his brother is one of many painful occurrences in Bradley’s life, [...]

We've saved the best for last! As many of you already know, Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre closed off an incredible weekend at Coachella. It was such a big deal that I had to make a separate post for just this set. So many great rappers made guest appearances with the hip-hop legends. The names include, [...]

The UMF Main Stage has always made a statement, but this year's array of LEDs, lights, and lasers was something you had to see in person to fully grasp. The gargantuan structure took over one week to build by a "small army" of workers, last year's stage pales in comparison to the all-encompassing offering that was put together this year. The screens are only one half of the story, however, since they would be nothing without visuals to splay across all of them. [...]

Fifth-annual festival to take place in Norman, Oklahoma from April 26 th - 28 th . +++ NMF5 to feature Portugal. The Man, Other Lives, Hayes Carll and more! +++ [...]

After navigating our way into Bayfront Park and over to Ultra's Main Stage - there are eight stages, so getting around is a workout - we were a little weary by the time Tommy Trash was set to begin spinning. But then we heard the familiar synths of TT's "Ladi Dadi" remix and all of our stress was gone. The Aussie is notoriously energetic in his live performances, and was at his best this afternoon. Click past the break for a review of his set, and the massive Main Stage. [...]
Great Scott! The Camp Bisco Eleven lineup has just been announced! If you've never heard of Camp Bisco before, you've definitely been missing out. Hailed as the Northeast's largest Electronic Music festival, this all-ages event features three nights of great music (with over 100 artists), rain or shine, and is run by jam band The Disco Biscuits ! Camp Bisco is an outdoor festival (with camping) set on the Indian Lookout Country Club in upstate NY, boasting tons of top acts as past headliners such as Cut Copy , Wiz Khalifa , [...]
This photo of what could be the Ultra 2012 main stage just popped up on our Facebook news feed, and we thought we'd share it with you. The mobile uploader believes it's the main stage — and given the presence of an AV tent in the middle of the space and what could be the raised #TaoGroupVIP area along the water, we just might have to agree. While the stage area looks on the small side, we're told this photo was taken from the 42nd floor of a building across the street and is zoomed in quite a [...]
