I was excited to hear there is a new Major Lazer track. That uptempo dancehall/reggae fusion/electro house sound is what I was expecting, but "Get Free" is a departure from Major Lazer's signature sound. "Get Free" is a smooth contemplative track that aims to mellow out the listener. Great for a lazy afternoon in the sun. What really carries the song is Dirty Projector's front singer Amber Coffman's vocals. Her distinctive style of singing gives "Get Free" depth and feeling. You can download it for free here .

It all starts with a tribal yell. Then it opens to a scaling, almost classical, electro strum. Soon after, comes the unmistakable voice of Amber Coffman (of the Dirty Projectors ).
