Major Lazer has teamed up with The Hype Machine to mix up the Best Songs of 2012. You will know every song in this mix, hopefully.
At one point, The Prodigy was one of the biggest band in the planet. During the first wave of electronic music invasion in America in the late 902s they made history by becoming the first electronic artist to debut their album ' Fat OF The Land ' at number 1 in US Billboard's Album Chart. Huge hits such as ' Smack My Bitch Up ', ' Breathe ' and ' Firestarter ' made them a household name and it's suddenly cool to listen to electronic music in America, all thanks to The Prodigy. 15 years after the release of ' [...]
Major Lazer has put a modern twist on an iconic dance song, and we're almost positive your mind would explode if you heard it live. However, can any remix of this song actually top the original?
Prodigy was one of the most iconic international successful bands to hit the music scene in the late '90s. With their experimental mix of trap and dance, this UK group's sound was definitely ahead of their time. Recognizing their forward movement on music, XL is set to reissue a remastered mix of Prodigy's ground-breaking LP The Fat of the Land . Included in this deluxe release is the Major Lazer remix to the smash single "Smack My Bitch Up". Adding in some reggae sound bites and hints of dubstep, Major Lazer does the original [...]
Through the ways of Jah, Amsterdam trio Yellow Claw received the glorious stems of "Jah No Partial" and teamed up with the son of a preacher man Yung Felix to give them a spin. Trap will eventually fade away, but when remixes like this keep sprouting up on the internet, its relevancy continues to thrive. GIVE LOVE GET LOVE JAH NO PARTIAL. Bonus:

Well these names will get your attention. The talented producer Major Lazer and Flux Pavilion have come together to create one original track called Jah No Partial . This could be another sub genre in the making. They take the orignal track “ Mr. Marshall ” by Johnny Osbourne and make it a reggae, dub-step, electronic cluster fuck of greatness. The beat is initially brought to us by Major Lazer , then Flux takes us straight to dub-town and that's just how we like it. This jam is sure to [...]

Actually, I do love this rework from the German duo Adriatique since the first time I heard it. Let's be honest, no one will ever make something better than the original. It's [...]

No Doubt is about to drop their highly anticipated album 'Push & Shove. I know that Major Lazer a.k.a. Switch & Diplo produced the title track 'Push & Shove'. As prelude prior to the album release, No Doubt is re-releasing the first single 'Settle Down' with remix from Major Lazer. The original is a bit reggae'ish and Major Lazer turned it into a moombahton number. Pretty cool stuff, especially if you're a fan of Major Lazer!

Major Lazer gives the video treatment to one of our favorite songs of the year, the anthemic ' Get Free ' which features Amber of the Dirty Projectors. The video was shot and directed by the French film boss So Me . The video sheds light on all the people of Jamaica, and is a surprisingly 'normal' video from a Major Lazer outfit who is usually outlandish. However normal it may be, the humanity shown in the video lends to the songs message of 'getting free'.
SoMe, who's known for all his work with the Ed Banger crew, produced this new video for Diplo's Jamaican-influenced jam "Get Free" which features Dirty Projectors' Amber Coffman:
