It seems that just about everyone I've talked to was skeptical about this whole Diplo and Switch sideproject, Major Lazer. Need I remind everyone that Diplo and Switch brought us the wonderful sounds of M.I.A. and Santigold? I never thought that Diplo and Switch's collaboration would be anything but awesome. "Hold the Line" is the first track I've heard from the superest-of-DJ-supergroups in recent memory (sorry Supermayer ). So what does a collaboration between Diplo and Switch sound like? Apparently the answer is bizarro-dancehall with random kitchen sink elements thrown in for good measure (surf guitar here, b-more claps there, telephone rings here)....and yeah, it's shit-hot.
