Fucked Up has launched a stream of their new Chinese New Year themed single, Year of the Tiger [12-inch] . The Toronto band has been releasing 12-inch singles coinciding with the lunar new year since 2006. Year Of The Tiger represents the latest entry in the series and includes guest vocalists including director Jim Jarmusch, Montreal punk vocalist Annie-Claude Deschênes and Canadian electronic outfit Austra. The band had begun streaming the other five singles late last month.

Ceremony have posted a number of dates for this spring. The tour finds the band hitting the west and east coasts, Chicago, and the UK. The band will be promoting their forthcoming album, Zoo due out March 6th, 2012 .

Now that Fucked Up has ended its banner year, rumors of questionable origin have begun to plague the band, somewhat mimicking the early days where the band themselves deliberately disbursed misinformation. Last year found the Toronto band releasing their critically acclaimed David Comes to Life LP, a meta-concept album that tied the band themselves into a story about blowing up a factory in 1980's England. But, after the accolades came pouring in, stories of the band's demise, lead vocalists quitting, and rampant dysfunction quickly followed in the wake. [...]

Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks have announced a number of shows in February 2012, aiming to hit some of North America's "glittering metropolises" that were skipped on their tour last August. The band's most recent release, Mirror Traffic , was released in 2011.
California's Ceremony drops a new single that brings a new British punk sound into the band's repertoire; however, it just doesn't do that much for me. WATCH THE REVIEW

California's Ceremony will release their Matador Records debut, Zoo , on March 6th, 2012, the label announced. Also being released on that day will be the second single from the album, "Adult." The first single, Hysteria," is set to be released January 17, 2012 . Additionally, the label teased a special NYC event, to be announced early next month. Pitchfork is hosting a full length performance of Fucked Up performing David Comes to Life live in New York City's West Village neighborhood at Le Poisson Rouge . The performance was one of the few the band has remaining in 2011 but will share the same live rendition of their album with fans in their hometown of Toronto next week . Starting in the New Year, Matador Records will be releasing rare, exclusive tracks from a number of their artists through their new 73 subscription series, "Singles Going Home Alone." Available January 17th, the first 73 is a split single featuring the unlikely duo of Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks and 802s glam-metal godfathers L.A. Guns. On the single, Malkmus and his band cover L.A. Guns' 1989 track "Wheels of Fire" and The Guns take on "Gorgeous George" off Malkmus' Mirror Traffic , which dropped earlier this year. Matador Records will be releasing their first 7-inch from critically acclaimed hardcore outfit Ceremony in early 2012. According to the label, the 7-inch will be released on January 17, 2012 with the first 200 coming in clear vinyl. The two-song disc features the title track "Hysteria" and a cover of Urinals ' "I'm A Bug." It follows up 2010's Rohnert Park and 2011's Covers , both released on Bridge Nine Records .
