George Carrasco, better known as Matches (and formerly, Clockwerk), introduces himself to Blisspop coming off the success of his breakthrough collaboration, " If This " with Danny Daze. Appearing in Noir's Second Chances and New Romances Vol. 3 , sitting fairly high throughout Beatport charts and landing in Resident Advisor's top 50 for December of 2011, it's easy to say the release of "If This" has placed Matches in the realm of up-and-coming house producers to keep a close eye on. Get to know Matches below, and groove to his hand-picked " Blisspop Playlist " [...]
Yesterday, we reported that iTunes Match finally launched alongside Apple's iCloud service. We also reported that it allows the uploading of up to 25,000 songs purchased from iTunes and non-iTunes outlets. Well it appears that if your library contains more than 25,000 songs not purchased from iTunes, you can not use iTunes Match. Period. The details: There's not even an option to upload portions of your library, or even some of your [...]
The holy grail of music listening is almost here: soon enough we'll be able to listen to all of our music from the cloud, anywhere, any time. We're not quite there yet; I give it five years before full-scale cloud penetration really takes hold. But with today's news that Apple's iTunes Match has finally gone [...]

Apple has released iTunes 10.5.1 for immediate download through Apple's site with iTunes Match available. It's not available via Software Update yet. iTunes Match is now listed as a feature in the iTunes and users can subscribe for US$24.99. Danny Daze was responsible for one of the bigger records this year with Fall Away From Love/Your Everything. And after hearing a few of his remixes I honestly thought it was going to take a while for the dude to find the momentum he needed to back up that massive single. Obviously I was wrong, the dude can write original tracks no doubt. This latest one is coming out on November 14th for Noir's Second Chances & New Romances compilation. I honestly didn't expect to hear these kind of sounds coming from Danny Daze but I'm not complaining. [...]
...because I'm at a loss as to how to describe it. It's g reat to encounter music that fits no known genre until you're the fumbling fool trying to review this 1993 release by German composer Helmut Neugebauer and his band Die Vogel Europas. But (*cracks knuckles*) here goes: Mainly guitar and drums making a kind of fracture d funk, like two Gang of Four records playing at the same time at 78 rpm... but with jazz sax that suggests a European Capt. Beefheart...er [...]
Just ahead of today's iCloud launch, last night Apple released iTunes 10.5. The upgrade includes support for iCloud storage and playback plus wireless sync. Missing is the promised iTunes Match which will integrate a fan's music acquired outside of iTunes to their iCloud collection. Apple has reportedly shared iTunes Match with select developers and says it will launch publicly before the end of this month. In the meantime, here are the major changes that iTunes 10.5 brings today: From [...]
The beta for iTunes Match , Apple's cloud music storage service, has opened to developers offering a peak inside the ground-breaking service scheduled to go public in October. For $24.99 per year, iTunes Match scans a users hard drive to find matching copies from iTunes of their songs to store in iCloud , regardless of whether those songs were purchased there or not. If iTunes doesn't have the song, it will be uploaded and along with matched songs playable via iTunes and on any Apple IOS devices. WATCH ITUNES MATCH VIDEO PREVIEWS : [...]

Roberts & Lords are a new addition to the growing Asthmatic Kitty catalog. According to released info, the origins of their debut Eponymous were couched in remote collaboration between Rafter Roberts and Simon Lord a la The Postal Service though via digital exchange (they found each other on MySpace, believe it or not). These indietronic kids have potential to score in the circuit lit up by other Sufjan et al sponsored efforts, but they've got work ahead of them. Rafter Roberts clearly has a good set of pipes which echo a more [...]

Well, the WWE finally did it. After spending years trying to recreate the magic of the late-90s Attitude Era, Vince and Co. put together a near-perfect, compelling and unpredictable event. Last night's Money In The Bank pay-per-view was easily one of the best WWE events of the last 10 years and probably in the top five non-WrestleMania events of all time. And we have one match to thank for it: CM Punk vs. John Cena. The build-up to the match was off the charts: CM Punk's contract was supposedly up at [...]
So remember a couple of weeks back, when Waterloo Records in Austin, Texas attempted to see how many illegible band logos their employees could actually identify or, better still, just plain read? Well, now they've done it again, this time with members of Tombs and Kill the Client. And at first, the band dudes are all [...]

In the short week since announcing iTunes Match, Apple's new storage/syncing service has already been met with opposition from an important independent label. The archiving and reissue specialists at Numero Group are hesitant about the service for the same reasons we are , that iTunes essentially found a way to monetize piracy by charging to store every song on your computer in the cloud, regardless of how they were originally acquired. "We feel that a great risk is being taken by Apple and the major labels that have accepted the terms of this [...]
In case you missed it: iTunes Match is a part of Apple's updated iTunes program, where for the low price of $25, you can have official, 256kbps versions of anything in your iTunes. This could mean that you get official versions of songs that you Torrented five minutes ago, but that's only if the labels sign on for it. Which is a big if, since indie labels are expressing doubt about the service, most notably Numero Group, the vintage R&B label, which has officially backed out of the service. The label raises an interesting point: It "legitimizes piracy" and that [...]
Last week, Chicago record label Numero Group , which deals exclusively with reissues, posted a succinct note on its blog stating that it would not join Apple's newest service iCloud. The biggest point of contention for Numero Group is not iCloud's storage service, but its scan and match element scheduled to debut this Fall. The subscription service called iTunes Match will cost users $25 a year and allow them to trade their less than legally obtained music for the real deal (if you've done that sort of thing). Numero [...]
