Holy Matt & Kim death match!! Matt & Kim's Sidewalks was one of the albums I accidentally left off my Best of 2010 List . It certainly, at least, deserved an honorable mention. I generally listen to a few of the tracks from the LP on my drive in to work and home again more than three or four days out of the week. This video is pretty much the opposite of Matt & Kim as you see them on stage, but like their stage show, there is [...]
Here is Matt & Kim with their brand new video for their song "Cameras" which is off last year's release Sidewalks . Check out a stream of the track below. I'm not a fan of this song but the video is kinda awesome. Matt and Kim literally just beat the shit out of each other the whole time. If I liked the song I'd be pissed that the fight sounds are actually louder than the song but I don't like it so who cares?
Watch 'Cameras' below. Matt & Kim recently sat down for an interview with ABC. MP3: Matt & Kim - Cameras (HOVAT Mix)
It's not too often IGIF gets a chance to help those in need, aside from all the new artists attempting to pull a Doors and break on through to the other side. Since it's the season of giving, we're participating in a neat (music infused) campaign for charity. The infectious music of Matt & Kim hardly needs any introduction, the first time I saw the duo was in a basement of a suburban home and now they're cracking Billboard charts while playing to thousands of people at huge festivals. Matt & Kim [...]
Our partner SPIN Magazine is working with ZYNC from American Express to run this cool campaign that donates $1 to fighting homelessness for every single play that the video receives. The money will go to three organizations: Green Chimneys, Sasha Bruce Youthwork and NAEHCY . Perhaps the best part is that the video features Matt & Kim, indie rock favorites whom we've featured a number of times on this here blog.
Right now, there are over two million young people who face bouts of homelessness each year in the U.S. Matt & Kim and ZYNC by American Express have teamed together to help fight youth homelessness. Every time the Backstage Pass video above is viewed, American Express will donate $1 to Green Chimneys , Sasha Bruce Youthwork and NAEHCY , up to $50,000. So, as a member of these here interwebs, I am sure you are aware of how this works. Put this up on Twitter and Facebook and anywhere else on the internet. The [...]

For those of you that have ever witnessed Matt & Kim live, you can attest to the vibrant energy the duo spark on stage, eventually feeding into the massive crowd frenzy that eventually sends everybody bananas. Check out this video of Matt and Kim performing "Silver Tiles" Live at Higher Ground in Burlington, VT. For the record, this video does their live show no justice. You can purchase their new album, "Sidewalks", here . Matt & Kim-Silver Tiles [mp3] [...]
Here's a video of Matt and Kim performing "Silver Tiles" the other day at their secret MySpace show in Burlington, VT. I love these two. Sometimes I get an unsure feeling when watching them because there is something so seemingly wholesome about them, and I've never related well to wholesome things (except 902s TV). Then they make eye contact with each other and smile, and my feeling of uncertainty melts away. Their enthusiasm is contagious. I definitely need to catch them live. Their new album Sidewalks is out now - buy it here . [...]

The Hoof and the Heel only started about a year ago, but have come a long way since. This montreal four-piece has opened shows for Matt & Kim, White Rabbits and Au Revoir Simone, put out a 4 song EP (called 'Fireworks') and the reviews and accolades continue to pour in about the band. Seems as if all i've done so far was tweet their NSFW-ish video for the title track off the EP a while back, figure I should probably post the video here though, its solid. These BK hipsters have been tearing it up and rapping over any and everything for awhile and finally got around to dropping their album ‘Art School Girls’ in April (bonus points for the 4/20 release). Ninjasonik is composed of Telli (who raps), Jah Jah (who from what I can tell does some of everything), and Teenwolf (who ‘keeps the beat spinning’). I saw them live at a concert on the Connecticut River in NH and they brought an insane amount of energy. The crowd had dwindled slightly by the time they took the stage but they didn’t really seem to [...]
