Cincinnati's Mixtapes have been an incredibly busy band. In a span of less than two years, they've released an album, 3 EPs, and a split. Their latest EP "Hope Is For People" is one of those albums that just immediately puts you in a good mood the second it starts. If you're not smiling (or at least singing along with the whoas) halfway through, I'm forced to assume you hate fun or have no soul. With 6 songs clocking in at 11 minutes (and one of those songs are just an acoustic version of another), Mixtapes really hit [...]

You now have plans for New Year's Eve!

10. Kanye West - All of the Lights Even though I love this video, the concept was pretty much taken from Gaspar Noé's award-winning psycho-thriller , Enter the Void 's opening credits. I guess to Hype Williams, copying is a form of flattery. 9. Lana Del Rey - Born to Die 8. Metronomy - The Bay 7. The Strokes - Taken for a Fool [...]
"What the fuck is this shit?" I'll admit, that was my first reaction upon hearing Cincinnati's Mixtapes. It's not that it was bad by any means, but being labeled as one of the newest quintessential pop-punk bands that must be checked out I was a little surprised by the acoustic, piano driven anthems found on their EP "A Short Collection of Short Songs". I know, me and my narrow mind. After
Fresh off the back of a successful nationwide tour Matt & Kim have just announced a special New Years Eve show. The Brooklyn mischief makers will be playing at the Hammersmith Ballroom on December 31st for what is set to be an electrifying way to end the year and usher in 2012. For those of you who are interested tickets are available [...]

With as much bombast as you've heard since Matt and Kim's "Daylight", Phantogram's surprise new single, "Don't Move" rises and falls, heaving with energy and possibility. The band's trademark guitars - here, think of the warmth of "Mouth Full of Diamonds" creep in the back of the mix while a buzzing, snapping downbeat maintains a benevolent dictatorship amongst horn punches and vocal samples
Filed under: News , Exclusive , New Music Getty Images (2) You have to be a certain kind of person to let Ke$ha tattoo you. Only someone slightly outrageous would offer up their flesh to Nashville's wildest pop star, someone like Andrew W.K. , a guy who isn't afraid of taking risks -- or, ending up with a life-long scar. "It got infected," W.K. tells Spinner. "It's an unfortunate aftermath and [...]
![Remix Roundup Vol. 51 – 9.13.2011 [Madonna, Dada Life, Matt & Kim, The Drums, and more...]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3719181_lg.jpg)
Welcome back TBE vets and greetings, bonjour, buenas noches, shalom, what's happening TBE infants. First, we're grateful for everyone of you. Second, we have a slight change in the Remix Roundup methodology I wanted to let you know about. Previously, we had been working from a Friday bi-weekly format that many of you have come very a accustomed to. But, as awesome as those Friday roundups were, keeping to that schedule sometimes proved to be quite difficult. Not to mention resulting in many Roundups being far too large. I decided to clean things up. [...]
Gerard Way Performs with Blink 182 During The Honda Civic Tour 2011 During the current Honda Civic Tour , it seemed inevitable that at some point My Chemical Romance and Blink 182 would perform on stage together. Well, it actually happened over the weekend in Michigan, however, due to less than ideal situations. Tom DeLonge of Blink 182 was apparently ill and asked Gerard Way, lead singer of My Chemical Romance to help with lead vocals on the track, "First Date". Not only did Way perform, but openers, Matt [...]

. . . The Submarines - "Shoelaces" [mp3] The Submarines remind me of what Matt and Kim would be like if they weren't so preoccupied by pretending to be cool or Yacht if they weren't trying to prove how "completely scene" they are. This song is perfect for anyone wanting to deal with a break-up [...]

Earthquakes and hurricanes, riots and economic depression; these are the events that we face today. Is the Apocalypse upon us? Were the Mayans correct? How about the crazy guys that flood the National Mall preaching about the end of the world? Who knows? I haven't posted in awhile and even before that it was just sporadically, though I love music and writing about it, I lost a bit of passion. I let my daily life events get in the way, putting 1146 miles on the back burner until I found the greater passion to follow through with a [...]

Featuring Soulja Boy and Andrew W.K.? Yea... you better believe it. I don't know where this came from, but I am so in love with the idea. Enough said - this post is all music baby. Enjoy. Matt & Kim feat. Soulja Boy and Andrew W.K. - I'm A Goner Posted first by John
Well I never thought I would ever type this but here's the track and video featuring Matt & Kim. Soulja Boy and Andrew W.K. for the track "I'm A Goner". No, they're not...

I've embedded the promo video of the single below (showing the group's penchant of putting on a show wherever and whenever in New York City they can) so you can compare and contrast; enjoy both below. The rock band that started on the Sunset Strip was honored after 30 years (of questionable fashion influence) over the weekend. Motley Crue (Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee and Mick Mars) not only sounded as good as ever, their stage complete with fire and Tommy's insane roller coaster drum set up (with Deadmaus for a ride) had the crowd jammed so tight on the street, you couldn't move.
