Matt Martians & Hal Williams also known as The Jet Age Of Tomorrow release the track listing and cover art from their 3rd album, The JellyFish Mentality, releasing this Friday on www.oddfuture.com .

L.A. hiphop collective, Odd Future is the creative home to many burgeoning artists including R&B crooner Frank Ocean, cacophonic OF leadman Tyler, the Creator, and the young Earl Sweatshirt. Odd Future is also the hub of other odd offshoots and collaborations like The Internet, Mellowhype, and The Jet Age of Tomorrow. The Jet Age of Tomorrow includes The Internet's Matt Martians and Pyramid Vritra's Hal Williams. With a guy Matt Martian serving as the creative juggernaut behind the duo, it's no wonder why their spacey soundscapes are something I would image a guy [...]

While Matt Martians might be more associated with the languid, future-funk sounds of his work in the Internet and the Jet Age of Tomorrow , dude knows how to craft a straight-up, unhinged banger, too. Case in point: the beat he co-produced for West Coast spitter Cashius Green with Caleb Stone . This is pure unadulterated madness in the form of a song that will probably remain on repeat for the next 20 minutes. It also might make you down a few shots of vodka ... or whatever spirit you favor. Listen below.
Like everything else in the Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All realm 'The OF Tape Vol. 2' is misleading from the get go. Despite its sequel suggesting title and budget album cover this the Los Angeles shock-rap crew's first proper full release since they got signed. It's true that 'Channel: ORANGE' deservedly got a lot of attention [...] The post Cougar Microbes Top Albums of 2012: Odd Future - The OF Tape Vol. 2 appeared first on Cougar Microbes .

The Internet, the duo of Odd Future's Syd and Matt Martians, share a wonderfully languid song for Election Day afternoon jitters. "Give It Time," where Syd's singing cushions against husky guitar, is the first taste ... read more
Looks like it is a big day for Matt Martians, as Odd Future liberates a new Internet song , along with a snippet of what looks like some new Jet Age of Tomorrow tunes. This is a bit of speculation, but Matt made it pretty clear on Twitter that this is indeed the work of Jet Age. It appears the snippet kicks off with the voice of Earl Sweatshirt , which makes it exciting enough, and then ends with words from Casey Veggies . We aren't positive on the Veggies part, but that is our guess. And [...]
With the Internet already releasing their Purple Naked Ladies debut back in 2011, it was only a matter of time before Syd the Kyd and Matt Martians released some new tunes. It sounds silly, but this track is very musical. That is, they employed a ton of live instruments and musicians, making for a rather lush guitar-driven soundscape for Syd's laid back vocals to ride over. While Purple Naked Ladies was an impressive debut, it is obvious these guys are maturing rather quickly. No word on what that next project will be [...]
Hal Williams and Matt Martians, who together form the Jet Age of Tomorrow , have been keeping busy with their respective side projects this past year or so. Martians and his Odd Future cohort, Syd the Kyd , have been touring and recording as the Internet while Williams has given his Pyramid Vritra output a good solid push. But (sometime soon, I hope) they are gearing up to release their new album as the Jet Age of Tomorrow. It's called Jellyfish Mentality —awesome title—and it's got a crazy cast of features. Seriously, [...]

Having directed videos for the likes of Nirvana, Belle & Sebastian and Sonic Youth, as well as being heavily involved with, TV and movie series, Jackass, Lance Bangs turned his attention to a rising star of the hip-hop world. Syd Tha Kid is the stage name of, 20 year-old producer and DJ, Sydney Bennett. Most notably known for her work with, hip-hop collective, Odd Future, Syd Tha Kid is the subject of this 12 minute documentary (originally released in March) and it's more interesting than you might think. It's a pretty candid look at the first [...]

Instrumental tapes can be a tough sell; knowing that, producer Caleb Stone seems to have taken cues from producers like Clams Casino and TNGHT, cramming every inch of space on his mixtape Sleepy Bitches with mysterious sounds, atmospheric wails, and plenty of bass. His remix of singer Bago 's "I Forget You" recasts a sultry rejection of an old lover into a disjointed wall of sound fitted with speaker consuming low end, while opening track "HORSE DAYTONA" incorporates disjointed vocals and distorted instruments to memorable effect. Check Caleb's "I Forget You" remix and "HORSE DAYTONA" out below, [...]

Caleb Stone will be releasing a much larger project in the near future, so Sleepy Bitches serves as an introduction to the producer originally from the Bay and currently hailing from Los Angeles. His upcoming project, currently untitled, will included some ill left coast features from Mike G, Alexander Spit and possibly some other Wolfgangers. What this beat tape/EP lacks in weight of names, it makes up for with solid vibes, brought on by the use of varied rhythms, layered samples and laid back melodies (and a coproduction credit from The Internet/Odd Future's Matt Martian, a sign of things to come). Sleepy [...]
Odd Future affiliated post-soul duo, The Internet, creates a beautifully haunting remix to the already awesome track Fitzpleasure by the Cambridge quartet alt-J. The Internet features OF DJ and singer, Syd tha Kyd (pictured above), and producer Matt Martians. Their first album, Purple Pink Ladies , was in my opinion one of the most underrated of last year. They manage to carry the dark, ominous sound of the Wolfgang from an innovative and soulful angle. Something to bump at the end of a legendary summer night.
