Wobble Wednesday is here again! Welcome back! If you're not already familiar with Wobble Wednesday, that's okay – we want to make your first time amazing. Most of what you'll be listening to here is often referred to as dubstep, but can encompass all genres of heavy bass music. To quote bass music artist ill.Gates, "When you look at what some of the bigger dubstep guys are doing now, they'll play some dubstep, they'll play some drumstep, they'll plays some breaks, some drum and bass, and maybe some dance hall." That's what Wobble Wednesday is all about. [...]

Convergent evolution is when two completely separate lineages evolve similar features. In nature we see this with the Sugar Glider and the Flying Squirrel (there's your daily bit of knowledge). Outside of nature we can see this between Dub & Dubstep. The former came out of 19602s Reggae with a focus on remixing original tracks through bringing [...]

Lets start this 9th episode of our beloved Dubstep Round Up series with a real banger! As you all probably know Original Sin is a badass jump up drum & bass producer. With many classics to his name (also from his G Dub-years) he has nothing to prove anymore. Still he keeps raising the bar producing banger after banger, not caring whether it's drum & bass, drumstep or even dubstep. On his latest offering on the infamous label Playaz Recordings he tries out many different styles. "Air Raid" is the only dubstep tune on [...]
Last year saw the release of the first Dub Police My Style mix from Caspa and now the second instalment is imminent, courtesy of D1. Due for release on October 31st, it's an energetic exploration of a potent selection of tunes from the likes of Caspa, Matty G, Subscape, The Others, Redlight and D1 himself. Stick this on and you'll be bouncing around like Rick James on top of broken washing machine or, I suppose, like a person dancing. In terms of choice pickings, the 'Ongie Bongie' VIP mix makes me want to go as mental as the [...]

So after some good shenanigans at EDC I'm finally back to reality. I know most of you know the feeling of 3 amazing days of pure happiness and how you feel after. Anyways today I got some mellowish dub, the new Rottun Records release Nightwalker may be a bit to rough for you today but I think you guys can handle it. So hope you enjoy what I've cooked up. Hello and welcome to Wobble Wednesday! Here you'll find the tunes that exhibit the classic dubstep sound - thunderous sub-bass lines accompanied by minimalistic top-end elements. If you ask me, it's the perfect music for sitting back and relaxing (although you can see my recent jazz post for alternative chill music). Now, if you happen to be looking for some absolute get-off-your-ass-and-dance raunch music, then you might be looking for Skrillex-esque filthstep, which you can find in my Filthy Friday column. With love and dub, @Crimestein [...]

Calling In Sick ! Leurs productions sont principalement réussies grâce à la puissance de la guitare électrique et du piano. Un EP devrait voir le jour avant la fin d'année 2010. Calling In Sick - Cali Games [...]
Chibuku deliver their usual feast of rave business at The Masque in Liverpool this Saturday November 6th. Dub Police bring the dubstep vibes in The Theatre with label head Caspa joined by David Rodigan, Emalkay and Matty G. The Count & Sinden and DJ Zinc drop heavy bass house music in the Loft, and Viper [...]

I can honestly say it has taken me until today to fully recover. Sub.Mission & The Dub Police went in. Big up to Matty G & Caspa for going all vinyl. Such a heavy event. Here are a few tunes I heard at least once to jog your memory or remind you why you should kys for missing this one. Katy B - Katy On A Mission (Produced By Benga) IRON DJ / DWNLD MP3 / VOTE [...]

I've been away for a minute but I'm back with some fresh new dubstep bangers for your ear drums. Crank up that sub woofer and sit back and rumble to this shit. Skream has been on the whole giving away free tunes tip lately and I gotta say I am loving it! His 3 volumes of "Freeizm" have been well received and he also dropped this new BANGER of a tune "Raw Dogz" via his twitter page. This tune is straight gangsta shit with that chilling Big L sample "Pullin out gats fo' fun!". [...]

Any Skream, Benga, Rusko or Caspa etc tune would be too obvious when thinking of a dubstep 'classic', so I've decided to share you the one we did play out so much and still do. This one remains a killer for us and the Loefah remix is one monster bass stomper. Matty G's new 'My 8082 is what you definitely need to grab. Well, at 1st the game seemed offensive to me. Being a DJ for 9 years now, it was like a hot wheels car to someone who collects original cars. "Just a toy." DJ Hero being just that, "a toy," it was fun. It did it's job as a toy, getting my attention and bringing back youthful excitement about something new and cutting edge (as far as toys go). To consider DJ Hero as an art is another thing though. It's going to be fairly easy to master, after maybe a month of game play. Very much unlike real [...]

No matter how hard I try, I just can't get into Girl Talk . There is something to be said about combining and crossing genres in incredibly swift increments of time, but listening to Night Ripper makes me feel like I'm being tested for ADD . I believe that someone like Girl Talk needs to exist in order to expand the parameters of Djing, but I'll listen to The Glitch Mob if I want to hear someone to cross genres. This team from Los Angeles melts [...]

And welcome to the post where I disclose the best and most exciting dance music I have heard all year. And I fully understand that this is not going to be everyone's cup of tea and that any claim to have discovered the best of anything at any time is fraught with danger and division, but nonetheless here 'tis: The Glitch Mob . Who also hold the title of being the best/only artist I have ever discovered in a shoe store. But there I was, four odd weeks ago, reclining casually as the shop [...]

Ryan: I've been damn busy with starting a new Job and relocating to the capital since the last TEN4SE7EN and I've missed doing these posts but this week I managed to scrape together enough time to find ten new songs that are currently blowing my tiny mind: Black Noise's 'Knock You Out' holds nothing back, incorporating a neck-cracking Dance-beat, scratching, sampling and several genius rap breaks. You'll love it. The Boy From Space's new EP features a delightful song called 'Come Home' . [...]

If you're a fan of Dub then there's a good chance you've heard of Matty G . This California based DJ/producer recently released the album "Take You Back". Fellow Golden State residents The Glitch Mob are also blowing up the scene. With a blending of many different styles, they have taken elements and formed their own hard-as-fuck tech sound that is almost out of this world, or at least comes from somewhere in the future. I got this remix a short time ago [...]
