No stranger to some tongue-in-cheek antics, Mr. Trash got together with some peeps from Jim Henson Company here in Los Angeles to bring his monkey character Kal to life. This is the first of a two-video series that will follow the inquisitive little monkey around. With a little bit of a Wall-E inspired storyline, Kal lives a solitary life on a planet of junk and comes across a cassette tape of Tommy's single. Once he figures out how to play the cassette, Kal's world is turned upside down by what he hears and he heads off in search of more. [...]
Nom De Strip is a name that has been floating around for a few years in the electro game with signings on labels like Rising and Dim Mak , but he recently has enjoyed a big boost in popularity from two consecutive EPs on mau5trap - Clouds Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 . The EPs have shown a decidedly techy approach to the sound of electro by the man otherwise known as Chris Elliott, and it is certainly suiting him well, with recent support by the likes of Tiesto and [...]
After splitting from Stupid Fresh in 2009, Chris Elliott assumed the new moniker Nom De Strip , developing his new persona and style into a sound that was hard to define. Rather than pigeonhole himself to one specific genre, Nom De Strip represents a more experimental and grassroots approach to electronic music - one that has seen the producer's sound touch on everything from electro to disco. On his latest EP, Clouds Volume 2, Chris taps into his electro backbone to deliver three high-octane productions that are as unrelenting as they are gritty. "Techno Saturday" is punctuated [...]
Deadmau5 latest offering is a collaboration with British singer Imogen Heap. The result is a melancholic, yet airy single that will not be out of place in Heap's own album. The video is made from compilation of animations created by different artists, interpreting the lyrics of the track. The result is touching as well beautiful. The single is also accompanied by bunch of remixes in different genres. Deadmau52 Mistelecommunication is out now on Mau5trap and available at iTunes .
What Tommy see, Tommy do. Australian madman Tommy Trash jumped at the opportunity to lay down a special re-edit of his already successful original Monkey See Monkey Do , and was joined by the likes of Tom Staar , Nom De Strip and Zero Hero to put together a seismic bundle of edits and remixes that are just itching to make their way to the dancefloor. Monkey See Monkey Do sees a variety of well-composed reworks ranging from the electro confines of Trash and [...]
After creating the definitive remix of deadmau52s "The Veldt, " Tommy Trash once again gets his fingers caught in the mau5trap, returning to the imprint for a remix package of "Monkey See Monkey Do." This time around Tommy's brought some friends along, handing the track over to Tom Staa r, Nom De Strip and Zero Hero for remix duties. Tommy's re-edit turns the original up to 11, pushing the track into overdrive with his signature grunge-flavored style while Tom Staar takes the track a bit deeper with the inclusion of [...]
After weeks of submissions and over 1,000 tracks received, mau5trap has finally announced the top ten finalists for their We Are Friends Vol 2 compilation. On March 11th, the mau5 himself will hand select one lucky finalist whose track will be featured alongside mau5trap favorites on the forthcoming release. The 10 submissions are all-strikingly unique but play nicely with mau5trap's already established aesthetic. Gritty takes on electro, progressive and subtep are all present on the comp - presenting a difficult decision on which track is deserving of top honors. Listen to the final submissions [...]

After introducing the world to the unparalleled talent of Skrillex and Feed Me, Deadmau5 has taken in a new protégé under his wing. Having spotted Eekkoo’s minimal Tech House track “Kung”, the iconic pot-stirrer that is Deadmau5 knew he had something special on his hands. Immediately signing him to Mau5trap, Eekkoo’s first release with the label is a forward-thinking remix of Wolfgang Gartner & Deadmau5’s "Channel 42", a track described by Inthemix as “a schizophrenic sonic stomper with old-school synth tones and an insistent psychedelic vocal loop”. A bouncy Tech House take on the Big Room undertones [...]

This marks a new turn in music for SNG. We've moved on from the 702s disco gon' electro to 802s glam rock pop or whatever you wanna call it. I don't know how I ran into Tommy Lee & Aero's 'The Rules,' probably MauTrap's SoundCloud, but it's been growing on me ever since. SOFI's voice may be a little bit too snotty with a cheesy 802s feel to it at times, but Tommy & Areo write her in well. Funny side note: didn't even know Tommy Lee was the Tommy Lee until [...]

In a trend that none of us are mad about, some artists are taking over Webster Hall for the weekend . A few weeks ago Tiesto Dillon Francis graced the stage for Saturday and Sunday and this past weekend Feed Me with TEETH ate up the crowd and spit ‘em back out smiling. As Feed Me, Gooch creates music that isn’t limited to any one sub-genre of EDM but is an amorphous sort of sound that drifts from hard electro, to dubstep, mixed with seemingly random bits of alternative rock or [...]
Clearly writing songs about robots wasn't enough for John Gooch, known to the masses as Feed Me . The multi-talented mau5trap artist today unveiled the latest video tracking the construction of his mysterious Project Feed Me robot. Modeled after the green monster mascot he designed, the project is the latest example of Gooch bringing his twisted artistry to life. Already capable of toothy grins and menacing squints, it's a wonder anyone felt comfortable giving this thing opposable thumbs. Catch his previous two videos to see its progress after the break. [...]
Last year mau5trap introduced the 'We Are Friends' compilation, a collection of tracks from friends of the label that was well-received by fans and the industry alike. This time mau5trap is opening it up, allowing one lucky producer to have their track featured on the compilation alongside some of the biggest names in dance music. Starting today, aspiring producers are urged to submit their original productions via Soundcloud to mau5trap for thorough investigation. The competition closes on February 11th and on February 18th the top 10 finalists will be selected by mau5trap based on production [...]
We checked in with Moguai and found out his five favorite SoundCloud producers of the moment.

Jon Gooch is the man behind Feed Me and he is more talented than you are. It’s okay, don’t be upset. He’s more talented than most of us mere mortals. Aside from making his own brand of amazing boundaryless music, Gooch draws and designs the Feed Me character (a little green goblin with a shit-eating grin) as well as designed his incredible light show known as ‘Teeth’ . Feed Me and the man behind it are about making music a journey and the ‘Teeth’ become a part of that journey truly allowing the DJ (who will also [...]
![Feed Me – Death by Robot EP : Gritty Electro House EP [Mau5trap]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4725450_lg.jpg)
We got to hear the lead single "Death by Robot" off this Death by Robot EP and now the entire hard hitting 3 song project just got released through Beatport and iTunes via Mau5trap Records. The first track Death by Robot captured a new softer indie dance side of Feed Me and the other two on the EP go to the bass fiend you love. The second track "Gravel" feels like a classic Feed Me electro house anthem, yet with an even more epic feeling then his [...]
The dirtiest electro house tracks on the Mau5trap label often come courtesy of Jon Gooch of the UK, or as you may know him, Feed Me . He was formerly better known in the drum & bass scene as Spor , but Gooch's electro alter ego has since become the center of attention. Several world tours later, he is coming in strong with his seventh Mau5trap release, titled Death By Robot . The title track hosts a mellow, progressive vibe-a perfect introduction to the bass-heavy, slightly terrifying tracks to follow. Gravel [...]

2012 was a big year for Moguai ; the German producer not only completed an arduous touring schedule that took him from the US to Japan and everywhere in-between, but he also released his first full-length album, Mpire , on deadmau52s label Mau5trap . Other highlights of his 2012 include 7 shows in 5 days during Miami Music Week , a debut on BBC Radio 12s revered Essential Mix , an appearance at Sensation Germany, and the growth of his PUNX UP THE VOLUME [...]
