Maximo Park are set to release their new album The National Health next week on the 11th of June. Ahead of its release the band have uploaded a little preview of the album to Soundcloud which can be streamed below. It's nice to have these guys back after some time away, I for one am happy that they are. Their lead single " Hips and Lips " is highly infectious.

Maximo Park are near and dear to our hearts and despite this being just the day before (June 8th) their new album, The National Health , we couldn't resist giving you a preview. My favourite non-footballing Geordies Maximo Park release the first single “Hips and Lips” on June 11th on V2 from their much anticipated new album,”The National Health”. “Hips and Lips” relates a complicated tale of a relationship gone sour, guitars ring and drums build as lead singer Paul Smith intones, “You’re a puzzle to me, and you always will be” through the pounding wall of sound. It is a dramatic, thrill packed 3 minutes, and it ensures that “Hips and Lips” will be lodged firmly in your head from the get go.

In the last 3 years since 20092s 'Quicken the Heart', Maximo Park had been relatively quiet.
