By Tom Johnson I guess all any of us, as both consumers and fans, want out of a bands second record is to see some progression. On the surface that sounds like a rather empty sentiment but history has taught that it's far more easily said than done. One supposes that the task becomes far more difficult when your debut record is one of the most respected and ground-breaking electronic records of its time. Which is exactly what Crooks & Lovers was, and it quite rightly pushed Mount Kimbie to [...]

This is the week Sempiternal was meant to be released before those damned leakers leaked the crap out of Bring Me The Horizon 's excellent fourth album. This is the London leg of their release tour and if you're thinking, “Oh, they're only playing Koko,” it's because this is a special intimate show. We crowbarred our way into the gig. Pre-gig meal: Sainsbury's prawn mayonnaise sandwich, standing outside the venue. 6 things we learnt when we saw BMTH in Camden... [...]
I always think May is the sweetest month. The gardens have come to life, the days are warm and the air smells of flowers and of grass mowed for the first time. I can hear neighbors working outside on their yards. Winter hibernation is finally over. Saturday was the best day, a whole day to be outside, to ride my bike or just walk around town to explore. We'd walk the tracks to the old depot. The depot is red brick, has granite window sills on [...]

Here are a few artists to check out on the Saturday of Live at Leeds Festival! Man Like Me Do you remember that quirky IKEA advert that went on about parties in kitchens? Well, you may recognise these guys and their vocals from precisely that. Man Like Me are a North London trio of absolutely wacky music and although it sounds like they can’t really be bothered, their mix of electro/ska/grime/…whatever it is, works really quite well. [...]

If April showers bring May flowers, it also brings the 1st of May and its gentle joys. Dully glory this Labour day by savoring your 24 hours holiday! The right time to adopt a frolic lifestyle, dress your hair with Lilies Of The Valley crowns, carol under a parasol, have an improvised picnic in a [...]

By the time I read the presser I was sent about the new IS TROPICAL video, it was already too late. YouTube had already taken it down as 'its content violated YouTube's Terms Of Service'. This immediately set off my internal alarms, as something taken down so quickly, had to be one of two things. Very very good, or at least, pretty damn crude. Thankfully, Vimeo aren't a bunch of prudes taking orders from Google - and there you can view the full official uncut totally crude, but totally amazing [...]
I've been on a Dudley Corporation buzz for the past week since I heard 'Grey Lights', from their forthcoming fourth album Everyone Does Everything Wrong. I bought their last album, 20082s Year Of The Husband, from Plugd at the weekend, and it probably won't come off repeat until its follow-up [Read more]
The National takes on an odd time signature, but plays it off smooth on this dramatic new single, "Demons," which is set for release via 4AD on May 20th. Enjoy!

. Il chitarrista dei Queen ha risposto così: [...]
Turrentine Jones released a couple of very good tracks last year but their latest effort, 'Della May', blows everything else they have done to date out of the water. The Manchester based trio continue to embrace their quite obvious affection for old ('5os/'60s) r&b, rock 'n roll and blues influences, yet, they manage to keep it [...]
