On this monumental day regardless of the outcome, Theo puts out "Good Morning America" ,a great commentary on what is going on right now. I'm about to go and cast my vote[s] right now so I just want this to sit in your brain to understand the magnitude of what has taken place on Nov. 4th. peaaace. Editor's Note: So this morning I realized that I may need some music to pass the time while I waste away in the inevitably long, slow-moving skeins of Obamacrats and McCainiacs leading to the polls. Thankfully, I was able to finagle this mix from our longtime contributor, sometimes-novelist, and Portland "pop culturalist" Greg Bigoni. His SendSpace link will only be [...]

Obama Wins Iowa: Why Everyone Has a Reason to Celebrate By Arianna Huffington of The Huffington Post Because tonight voters decided that they didn't want to look back. They wanted to look into the future - as if a country exhausted by the last seven years wanted to recapture its youth. Bush's re-election in 2004 was a monument to the power of fear and fear-mongering. Be Very Afraid was Bush/Cheney's Plans A through Z. The only card in the Rove-dealt deck. And it worked. America, [...]
Tomorrow is the big day. For the Non-American breakfast eaters, you are still witnesses of history. Here is a quick tutorial on how to vote. Till tomorrow, peaaaace!

By the end of the week, McCain'll be accusing me of being a secret communist because I shared my toys in Kindergarten. -Barack Obama ( thx )
In this nasty political climate, the "final push", the last couple of days before Election Day, a.k.a. the beginning of the next great chapter in the history of the United States , it seems obvious that everyone has their eyes and ears pinned to the all-out Election '08 coverage. It's just a bit overwhelming. Hey, I'm so happy that I don't live in a swing state. I don't know how you folks in O-hi-O, FLA, VA, "New HAMP-shire??" ("What About Bob?" anyone?), or North [...]

There's been a fair bit of chatter on blogs and in weekly newspapers about what songs we'll want to listen to if our presidential candidate of choice wins. Conversely, what might we put on to console ourselves in the event of a loss? Keep in mind that there's more going on in this election than Obama vs. McCain. For one, California has Prop 8 on the ballot -- the most expensive ballot measure in the country, with both sides' spending totaling around $60 million combined. Plus, there are countless statewide, congressional and local races, the [...]

I'm not sure if it's my childhood love of Dr. Seuss or the sheer simplicity of this message that I love the most--so if any of you undecideds even bothered to register, hopefully this will help you see the light. 10 more days... Cloud Cult - Hope
from http://providencedailydose.com /2008/10/24/race-baiting-mccai n-volunteer-gets-her-comeuppan ce/ When news broke last night that a McCain volunteer, Ashley Todd, had been mugged and assaulted by an angry 6′4” black man, an Obama supporter, I raised one eyebrow but hesitated to comment, fearful that Willie Horton was making a comeback in the American political scene. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported : Ashley Todd, 20, of College Station, Texas, was using an ATM at Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street in Bloomfield just before 9 p.m. Wednesday when a man approached her, put a knife to [...]

Editor's Note: The content of our writers' posts do not necessarily reflect the views or policies of JamsBio, nor its partners and sponsors. Really, it's just the writer. And our writers kick butt. Sometimes it's best for "regular Joes" to stay out of the political mudfight of an election. Leave the misleading attacks to the operatives and pundits who are actually getting paid to spread half-truths and misleading facts. But Joe Wurzelbacher, aka Joe the Plumber, thrust himself into the blinding spotlight of a national campaign by allowing the Republicans to latch onto his inane idea [...]

Forgive me, Loyal Leisurites - you surely don't paw these pages to be lambasted with lameness taking form of Uncy Sid's rants about things other than travel, imbibements, cultural stewardship, and tedious self-promotion. However. Dire times inspired my mind, I find - time to inscribe a line. This, the first of a mercifully-broken-apart series; I can only hope, will be tolerated adequately to conjure thoughts within y'all's nuggets: A sigh, at times, seems even too much to muster. I can’t take what’s happening; can’t figure it out or fix it or explain it to [...]
[insert unflappable disappointment] This is white, Midwestern, God-fearing America. These are my brethren. I'm trying to remind myself that I don't believe people are evil... but there's a really deep-seeded rot festering on the ugly underbelly of our country, and it's cancerous on the minds of the weak and impressionable. It's not God Bless America, it's God have mercy on America. God forgive America. God save America from itself. Forget Diddy and all them - this report is the only tipping point you'll need to exercise your right to vote [...]
With the election less than a month away, everyone has felt the side effects of the democratic process. The candidates are willing to backhand their mothers to get the votes of middle America. McCain has become as prolific in changing his strategy as Woody Allen is at casting Scarlett Johansson, while Obama’s campaign slogans sound they were created by Gob Bluth. Both campaigns are targeting a specific demographic of American voters. The Coen brothers’ new comedy, "Burn After Reading," paints a precise portrait of the voter both parties are lining up to appease. The opening image of the film [...]

There's exactly two weeks left until Election Day. For your pleasure, a pre-election playlist to pump you up for pulling the lever. And, in the spirit of the upcoming political throwdown, JamsBio is holding its own musical election. Vote now! I will start off by stating that I believe John McCain will win the election. It is going to be a very close race, but he will win. Colin Powell's endorsement is not a game changer. Here is the full video of Colin Powell's reason and endorsement of Barack Obama. What do you think? Even though Barack Obama is in the lead in all the polls .. we must remember that both Kerry and Gore were in the lead going into November and they both lost.
