NME : Meat Loaf invites Robbie Williams on Charlie Chaplin ghost hunt -- Visit No Rock & Roll Fun to comment, complain and kvetch

"I would do anything for love, but I won't do that" I am a massive fan of Meat Loaf. I am also a massive fan of dance music and remixes. As a result, I'm always on the lookout for Meat Loaf remixes. I'm aware that this is a... niche "genre" at best, and that would explain why there aren't many out there. But, I'm absolutely in love with the idea of reinventing classic rock for the dancefloor. It's not the easiest thing to find, and I always get excited when I discover something that makes me [...]
I'm in a drawn out process of moving house, so that's why. School on top of that and no internet there yet, some things have to be put aside. As catchup: Thursday, March 14th Bad for good - Jim Steinman [...]

Guilty Pleasure Tour is Meat Loafs zesde live-album en nog steeds is Bat Out Of Hell zwaar vertegenwoordigd in de setlist. Opmerkelijk is echter dat op de cd een van de ultieme songs you love to hate, "Paradise By The...
As we reported last week , Gaspar Noé — the man responsible for the French films Enter the Void and, shudder, Irreversible — has directed the video for the rather excellent new Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds single "We No Who U R." The video is rather restrained by Noé's standards, but it fits the song beautifully, and it got us thinking about other well-known directors who've moonlighted in making music videos. There have been plenty over the years, some triumphant, some rather less so — so here's a selection for your viewing delectation! Marvel, [...]

Filed under: News , Exclusive , Pop Culture , The Hit List , Music Appreciation Martin Bureau, AFP For songwriters there's something especially enticing and gruesome about a vehicular crash. From the sweet-sounding teen tragedy hits that ruled the '60s to the real-life account of Kanye West 's near life-threatening accident in 2002 pop music is filled with cautionary tales about how not to behave on bikes, in cars, and around railway [...]
Allmusic.com describes the work of Jim Steinman as theatrical, visceral and rousing. It also describes it as campy, indulgent, and silly. They're exactly right: His work is all of those things,... Continue reading "Meat Loaf vs. Bonnie Tyler In the Jim Steinman Power Ballad Battle" >
I don't want to knock enthusiasm but what the hell happened to Meat Loaf at this Mitt Romney event? If I was a Romney fan I'd probably think Mr. Loaf was an elaborate, malicious, extremely random plant. But I'm not. Yet I still can't can't stop watching. Volume way up. • • • •

Meat Loaf took the stage with Romney at a campaign event in Defiance, Ohio yesterday, and proceded to absolutely murder the classic American ballad "America The Beautiful." Based on Romney's face when this clip starts the performance was already in bad shape, but Meat Loaf takes control it goes from awkward to crazy and amazing. It's good, watch here. Dude has heart, right? I'll take his version over Romney's robot version from January any day. (Via TMZ )

I'm not really up to date with who backs who in the US presidential campaign, though Jay-Z will probably go for Obama, seeing as he takes parenting advice from the president , but I found out Meat Loaf is a hard core Republican. Ok, it's everybody's choice, do whatever you want (yuck, politics!), but what happened at Romney's campaign was just hilarious. Meatloaf started singing America The Beautiful, but the song itself wasn't cool enough, so the singer started adding his own touch. The results? A train wreck, to say the least. Watch Mitt's face as Meat [...]

Like a bat out of hell, Meat Loaf has unexpectedly joined Mitt Romney at a campaign rally to declare his support for the Republican contender for the White House.

Eddie Money spooked Paloma. His mug appeared on the television as he belted out Two Tickets To Paradise in a commercial for some beer or burger or chainsaw. (or something) "That's scary," she noted. There was something about the aging rocker, shuffling about the screen in an exaggerated manner and belting out song in a gravelly voice, that made me think of Joe Cocker. "He reminds me of Joe Cocker. I think that the two should go out on tour together." I pictured the [...]

The singer has accused his lookalike of being a "cybersquatter and online imposter"....
Four years ago, Meat Loaf impersonator Dean Torkington was targeted by Meat Loaf himself . Back then, it was mainly down to the painting on the side of Dean's motor home. They're still at war, though : A Meat Loaf tribute artist from Lancashire is fighting a $100,000 (£64,000) writ from the US rock star, who accuses him of being a “cybersquatter and online imposter”. Dean Torkington, 49, from Burnley, Lancashire, has used the MeatLoaf.org domain name since 2000. Torkington, who has performed his show To Hell And Back: (A Tribute [...]
