Por ejemplo, hace algunos años hicieron una rendición bastante buena de “Between the Bars” de Elliott Smith, con la particular y grave voz de Emily Haines a la cabeza. Hace algunos días también rockearon con “Heart of Glass” de Blondie, y no tuvimos que esperar demasiado para escuchar una nueva reversión a manos de los canadienses. Someone at VH1 apparently really, really likes the Canadian band Metric. The band took part in VH12s most recent Divas Live special, covering Blondie's immortal " Heart Of Glass " while more-or-less dressing like the band and standing in front of a backdrop that looked like the Parallel Lines cover art. And as the latest band highlighted in the channel's "You Oughta Know" series, they also played an acoustic cover of Morrissey's " Why Don't You Find Out For Yourself ." Watch both below. De su reciente quinto álbum Synthetica , se desprende “ Breathing Underwater ”, y Metric nos presenta desde ayer el video para la misma, formado con material de distintas presentaciones del reciente tour de esta banda canadiense. Synthetica será re lanzado en versión deluxe con un bonus que incluye un cover a la canción “ Strange Weather ” de Tom Waits .

Metric could have really taken the literal route in their music video for "Breathing Underwater". Though without the risk of cribbing Ween's "Ocean Man" , the Canadian, Emily Haines-led outfit went with the tried and true "life on the road" concept, documenting their endless travels and high-energy live show. Still, maybe rocking out on stage and swimming aren't too different: both place individuals in this mesmerizing, otherworldly dimension that some never want to leave, and after a few minutes, utterly drained and breathless, they come back to the real world with the hopes of returning ASAP. The latest visuals from Metric takes a straight-forward approach, utilizing footage from their shows this past summer and shots of Emily Haines being a bad ass. Judging from the video, a Metric concert isn't one to be missed, as it looks like the band will guarantee a sweaty good time. New visuals for Metric's "Breathing Underwater" just premiered along with the announcement of a deluxe edition of their album Synthetica to be released next week. The new video is made up mostly of behind the scenes and on stage footage of the band's recently completed US tour and shows just how crazy life can get while on the road. Metric is currently at the beginning of their first ever arena tour throughout Canada. Check it out below along with an acoustic version of 'Breathing Underwater" the band recently recorded. [...]

With the release of the deluxe version of their disappointing album Synthetica ( review ) looming on November 20th, Metric have a new video. The clip is for the track "Breathing Underwater". The deluxe version of Synthetica will include five acoustic tracks. Watch the video here: Metric play the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on November 24th.

Casí olvido por completo que Metric puso a la venta un nuevo álbum durante este año, y aunque la verdad " Synthetica " no es tan malo, me parece que tampoco se puede considerar como uno de los mejores trabajos que la banda ha entregado hasta el momento. Pero bueno, antes de que termine el año, Metric ha optaron por dar a conocer el vídeo para el mas reciente sencillo que se desprende de esta producción, "Breathing Underwater", el cual decidieron armar con algunas imágenes de su presentación en Lollapalooza el pasado mes de Agosto, [...]
