Fox news took footage from September of Joe Biden quoting John McCain saying the fundamentals of the economy were strong , and used it as a sign that Democrats are now singing a different tune on the economy. After the segment, Fox News's Martha MacCallum said, "All right, well the mantra for the weekend is clear, looking at what was said over the course of the shows on Sunday." When John McCain tried to subvert the Obama camp's momentum by picking a female running mate, a few people huffed about the gimmickry involved in the decision. Obviously, choosing Palin was a fatal flaw in the long term. The Republican Party apparently hasn't learned from this mistake. This went down late last week, but I'm assuming most JTTS readers aren't big C-SPAN junkies. For those who don't know, the Republican Party recently tapped former Maryland Lt. Governor Michael Steele as the party chairman. Not because he's qualified, or even a decent human being/politician, but because he's black, and, as the Democrats clearly demonstrated, America is looking to sweep any party headed by a black guy into office. In one of his first big announcements, Steele mentioned that he wants to apply conservative principles to - get this - "urban-suburban hip-hop settings." [...]
