Corridor Podcast , a podcast about Baltimore/D.C. music hosted by journalist Kelsi Loos, recently invited me to appear as a guest, to play and talk about some of my favorite Baltimore songs of the year. New York City is a glorious place. The energy here is second to none, and yet there are times the never-ending intensity can be overwhelming. Late this winter, we escaped the hustle and bustle of the city with Brooklyn-based band Modest Midas . Just as fate would have it, we were able to catch one of the only snow days this entire winter. For those who are unfamiliar with Hyperdub (the label that brought you Burial ), they specialize in foggy, ghostly productions. I'm happy to say the label's newest release is a remix album of King Midas Sound's Without You . They've commissioned a vintage collection of artists for the remix collection, including Flying Lotus , Kode9, singer Kiki Hitomi, UK dub star Mala, and many more. Each artist brings their own unique style to the table and the result is a fantastic collection of reworks that any beathead would be proud to have in their library.
