So we typically toss a video onto a post when highlighting a new band or a concert or whatever, and we let you draw your own conclusion about it. Sometimes we throw a change-up ... strike that - let’s call it a round up. These visual/aural displays were worthy of our attention, and we think you'll dig them. If a picture is worth 1000 words, then a video must be worth a million. Hold on to your hats! Words and picks by Brendan [...]

Earlier this week Mixmag let loose this exclusive track and we've been yearning for the weekend to begin ever since. The Finnish electro duo TJH87 got a remix rinse from none other than Robotaki and the result is absolutely incredible. Their styles are an ideal compliment to each other, mixing TJH872s slightly funk-infused heavy electro with Robotaki's own compressed basslines and French house leanings. Here those two collide perfectly, creating a tune with an enormous amount of flavor and serious dancefloor vibes, making it a prime choice to kick the weekend off with. The free download can be [...]

![[SHOW REVIEW] The Last Bison with Marah in the Mainsail @ 7th Street Entry](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4887597_lg.jpg)
Marah in the Mainsail has been described on more than one occasion as hardcore-folk. Going into the show I had absolutely no idea what hardcore-folk would sound like... I do now. Think, Of Monsters and Men on steroids with growls... Or maybe Louis Armstrong singing metal over folk music. If you can somehow find a way to picture those strange combinations inside of your head, you'll find Marah in the Mainsail. The group follows the pattern that has been ever so popular among emerging groups today. A talented collective of males accompanied by a female [...]

As a general rule of thumb, I'm not a huge fan of covers, because if a song is good enough to cover, it's unlikely another band will do it justice. And the worst is if it's a song that's been released in the past few years. Ugh I'm probably already sick of the track, I don't want to hear it even more. Having said that, there obviously are exceptions (I'm not that close-minded) - a recent one being The Last Bison 's remake of M83 [...]
The Last Bison have put their acousticana stamp on a dramatic and soaring cover of M832s "Midnight City." They turn the song inside out in all the best ways. Watch it below. The band's debut album, Inheritance is out tomorrow. Purchase the record here. The band performs twice in our area on Friday, June 21st; ... Continue reading

M83’s “Hurry Up. We’re Dreaming.” trilogy is the best video experience of 2012.

Nothing beats the blues on a Friday better than some spacy shoegaze electro, while waiting for the madness of a Friday evening? Well maybe not, but either way, this remix is amazing! Follow / [FACEBOOK] Other / [OFFICIAL SITE]
Fleur & Manu 's video trilogy for M83 's Hurry Up We're Dreaming comes to a close with a piece for album standout "Wait." Created in conjunction with the Creator's Project , part three closes out the tale of F&M's runaway super-kids that began in "Midnight City" and "Reunion." "Wait" is an ambiguous end to the story, presenting a post-apocalyptic world presumably brought about by the continued exploits of our young protagonists. In the words of the directors themselves, "We felt it was important to re-connect with a meaningful subject that would [...]
In a trilogy that's seen stunning videos for "Midnight City" and "Reunion" , it's now time for M83 to round it out with his video for "Wait" , another epic journey from the minds of Fleur & Manu in an end-of-the-world type scenario. The visuals are again amazing, so make sure to turn that dial to HD for its true glory. "Wait" is taken from M83 's 2011 album Hurry Up, We're Dreaming [...]

Friend of City Hall, The Melker Project sent me this heater. Superthug vs Midnight City vs Get Me Bodied aka Nore Vs. M83 Vs. Beyonce

If you look up the word “euphoria” in the dictionary, the definition will simply read “M83”. Probably. Their 80s electro and shoegaze inspired sound - awash with droning spacey synths, live drum beats and mesmeric vocals – inspires a certain kind of elated euphoria, the sort to have the audience’s kneels trembling, palms to the sky and hearts raised to the heavens. Brixton Academy was the last leg in the band’s current tour of Europe for their third album ‘Hurry Up, We’re [...]
![[on the rise] Trails and Ways](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4578808_lg.jpg)
photo magic credits to Alex Khomyakov via facebook I must admit, this post is long overdue. Along with the rest of the blogosphere, I've been obsessing over Trails and Ways for the last couple of months, so i'm a little confused on why I waited this long to spread the love. Oh well, better late than never. Hailing from Oakland, CA, this quartet is producing some of the most infectious dream pop (or [...]

Tapping the same genome that M83 's "Midnight City" and the Big Pink 's "Dominos" made deservedly famous, Parade of Lights , a Los Angeles band release a stunning first single, "Just Give It Up." Made for late nights and the fuzzy neon of downtown, "Just Give It Up" smashes its way through a shout along arrangement rooted in an enormous back beat and a karate-chop sample loop that offers an implied and metaphorical violence. There is even a hint of an ode to the Fine Young Cannibals' "She Drives Me Crazy" in [...]

I realized today its been nearly a year since we last "took cover" so to speak... and thats just plain bogus! So to make it up to you I've compiled a few of my favorites from the past few months. And just like that Tuesdays are relevant again. MP3: John Mayer: Video Games (Lana Del Ray) MP3: Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr: Like A Prayer (Madonna) MP3: Avec Sans: Perth (Bon Iver) MP3: [...]
Visit Indie Shuffle to download. Song: M83 - Midnight City (Trails And Ways Cover) [download here ] What's so good? One of the best feelings ever is hitting play on a song, only to find yourself saying 5 seconds later: "HOLY CRAP THIS IS [...]

I was first introduced to Trails and Ways earlier this year when I stumbled on their amazing, bilingual, cover of " Miracle " by Ghost Beach . They transformed one of my favorite summertime, synth jams into a tropical, bongo infused, beat. They use the same treatment with other covers like "Animal" by Miike Snow and M832s " Midnight City ." However, It's their original music that had me yearning for more. This [...]
Ohh shit it's Saturday night and this one's a banger. One hour of pure dance music. It's progressive, it's tech house, it's just the right mix of delicate and grimy in the mid-1202s that's not too fast and not too slow. Some originals, some remixes of his originals (weird), and the occasional hit - dance your [...]
