We have teamed up with our Phoenix, AZ homies 2ToneDisco to give away 2 FREE tickets to their upcoming show at the world famous Avalon nightclub in Hollywood, CA [2.10.2012]. The lucky winners will be announced as soon as 2ToneDisco's Facebook fan-page reaches that magic number 900 . I have seen DJ's from all over the world, spin at all sorts of venues, and I can honestly say that some of the funnest, most memorable shows I've been to are [...]

Felix Bloxsom, better known in the EDM scene as Plastic Plates, has been surrounded by music his entire life. Growing up in Australia, his father was a Jazz musician. Felix followed the same path and got hooked into playing drums as a session musician for a fantastic list of acts that includes the likes of Sia, Midnight Juggernauts, and Empire of The Sun. I've been addicted since I first heard his filthy remix of 'Social Studies' by Body Language (who was touring alongside Sia when Felix made the track), which can get even get the rhythmically inept on [...]

What happened to the Justice we came to know and love on the Parisian duo's 2007 debut album? Well, Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay have decided to shift from driving, bassy grooves that blend the intensity of techno with the heft of heavy metal to a more melodic, song-oriented approach that's more dreamy than danceable, and apparently influenced by '70s art rock. They also enlisted some impressive guest vocalists, including Vincent Vendetta from Midnight Juggernauts , and Morgan Phalen of Diamond Nights . We caught up with [...]

After four long years of waiting we are finally going to have more music from Parisian duo Justice in the form of their sophomore album titled Audio, Video, Disco , which will be released on October 25th courtesy of Ed Banger / Because / Elektra . The album was created in the duo's home studio complete with the guys playing all every instrument themselves and features guest vocals from the likes of Morgan Phalen (Diamond Nights), Vicenzi Vendetta (Midnight Juggernauts) and Ali Love, who you heard on "Civilization". If you haven't already, you can head over [...]

Plastic Plates is originally from Sydney, Australia but is now rocking his nu-disco tunes Los Angeles. His remixes are creating quite a stir all throughout the internet due to their accessibility and creativity. Shamefully, I was only first introduced to him when I heard his remix of Adele 's "Set Fire to the Rain" which I've played a tremendous amount. Download: Set Fire to the Rain (Plastic Plates Remix) - Adele (Right Click, Save As) The selection I have below is delicious and all should be listened to and appreciated. Download: [...]

Herausstechen tun die Midnight Juggernauts mit "Come as you Are", Foxy Shazam mit "Drain You" und Charles Bradley and the Menahan Street Band, die sich "Stay Way" angenommen haben. > Das [...]
Download new Nirvana covers by Titus Andronicus, the Vaselines, Amanda Palmer, Surfer Blood and tons more!
Here's an interesting tidbit: Nirvana 's seminal album Nevermind turns 20 this year (how's that feel, Generation X?). A grunge masterpiece that transcended its boundaries, the album is as relevant now as it was when it hit the shelves in September 1991. Case in point: SPIN has put together Newermind , a cleverly titled tribute album that sees acts both new and old covering each of the record's 13 tracks (including the hidden "Endless, Nameless"). Now available as a free [...]
Barely a day passes without another mash-up band hitting the scene. The past decade's emergence of various genres and styles of music being combined to create new sounds is not particularly new, and is rarely executed in any kind of stylish manner. But Fenech-Soler are one in a line of acts taking influence from indie, [...]

The thing with all these new post punk, nu disco bands is they all kinda sound similar from one to another. Holy Ghost! is no exception. Their album "Holy Ghost!" is a good album. I enjoyed it through and through upon my first listen, yet it was eerily familiar. There's a thin red line that separates these bands. If you doubt me, just try to make a playlist filled with Cut Copy, Empire Of the Sun, Midnight Juggernaut, Holy Ghost!, Miami Horror or any of their contemporaries and play them in shuffle mode and you'll see what I mean. In [...]

It is interesting to be captivated by videos of the same director, because in that way you get to know artists you wouldn't discover otherwise. An actual characteristic example of this kind, is Special Problems . You have probably heard this directing duo before. Behind this name lie Campbell Hooper and Joel Kefali , deriving from New Zealand. And not only are they involved in video work, but also occupy themselves successfully with graphic and web design as well as fine arts in general. You will soon realize that the videos these creative guys make [...]
![Remix Roundup Vol. 39 – 3.4.2011 [MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUTS, MICHAEL JACKSON, BEE GEES, SURFER BLOOD and more...]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3255903_lg.jpg)
Yo, so we just made a cross country road trip back down here to the ATX. Looks like we are going to be Austinites (?) for the foreseeable future... SXSW, be funking ready. On the way down, among other super awesome subjects covered and generally getting Nurdy as hell, we decided that due to a massive backlog of jamz we're putting together a Remix Roundup of EPIC proportions (f*ck that was wordy). Not just in numbers folks, we're talking about game-changing, blasting in your ears drums music here. Frankly, if you aren't happy with this dazzling little fun-basket of [...]
kkkkkkk. some feel good indie pop for your Thursday night. This stuff is supes sweet and is local too (Melbourne boys represent). The band is Dancing Heals. The track is called Diamonds and they've got the production talents of Tony Espie (Cut Copy, Midnight Juggernauts) and that goth pop dude Mandy Kane. Check it out [...]
