Even though the last ever tune from The Streets was the conclusively titled 'Close the Book' - in response to the opening of Original Pirate Material which was 'Turn the Page' - indicating that the last page of that particular saga had been turned, it has now come to light that an actual book, written by Mike Skinner alongside Ben Thompson, is due for release on March 28th. There is currently very little information available on the memoir, dubbed The Story of the Streets , and all we know so far has been gleaned from [...]

The SKoA camp were more than a little upset when Mike Skinner announced that The Streets' album Computers and Blues was to be his last. Recently though, Mike has been back up to his old antics on Twitter and talking about all kinds of things. One of those things is his Memoirs which are soon to be released. Skinner's book will be titled The End of the Streets and was written with Ben Thompson, who's worked on autobiographical material with Russell Brand and comedian Vic Reeves in the past. It'll be available to add to your [...]
The book - called The Story Of The Streets - will be out on March 29...
The book drops this March.

UK rapper Mike Skinner certainly has been productive since ending his famed project The Streets early last year. In addition to providing a movie soundtrack and forming a new band , he's written a book. As Exclaim points out, Skinner wrote The Story of the Streets with author Ben Thompson to chronicle his experiences under the rap moniker. Slated for hardcover release on March 29th, 2012, the memoir clocks in at 352 pages and already has a listing on Amazon.co.uk . No other details have surfaced so far, except that the book has [...]
The Story of the Streeets . El libro fue co-escrito por el propio Mike junto al escritro Ben Thompson, quien también ha [...]

Dead Social Club. Dead Social Club are six-piece electronic indie band formed in South London in 2009. There's certainly a vaugue hint of a less doom laden Depeche Mode in the vocal delivery combined with a dash of 802s post punk, yet they manage to make it sound fresh and vital with big chourus's that stay on the right side of epic without ever sounding over blown. Their latest single "Stockholm" (below) is available as a pay what you like free download ( just [...]

Milestone birthdays shall be celebrated! And this is truly a landmark in Berlin's club history. Our beloved home Icon Berlin is throwing a big party in occasion of its 15. birthday and, sadly as it is, it will be the last birthday-bash at Cantianstraße 15. Three weeks before the official closing of our favourite parlor the Icon Berlin has invited some very special guests. A young man who tells about his everyday life on the streets for about ten years now and is still coming up with thrilling new stories is doing us [...]

Easily considered one of the most lyrically gifted guys on the British scene at the minute, Ghostpoet does so without turning to the cliches and stereotypes associated with many hip hop lyrics coming out from both sides of pond. In this collaboration he hooks up with The D.O.T, who are kind of a super group but [...]

Easily considered one of the most lyrically gifted guys on the British scene at the minute, Ghostpoet does so without turning to the cliches and stereotypes associated with many hip hop lyrics coming out from both sides of pond. In this collaboration he hooks up with The D.O.T, who are kind of a super group but then not really. Consisting of Rob Harvey , formerly the vocalist for criminally underrated band The Music , and Mike Skinner , formerly of The Streets . [...]

Ghostpoet has already left his mark on 2011 with his rather unique debut, Peanut Butter Blues and Melancholy Jam. Not content with that he has teamed up with one of his biggest fans, Mike Skinner and Rob Harvey (The D.O.T.) to collaborate on a new track 'Trouble' for the latest Rizlab's project. Fans of the contributing artists will, like me, be delighted [...]

In the build up to Ghostpoet's live streaming video shoot collaboration with Mike Skinner's The D.O.T., the ever-charitable folks at Rizlab leaked Damu 's reinterpretation of their lead single 'Trouble'. Although the live streaming has been and gone, you can still listen to Damu's remix below. Unfortunately, there's no way of viewing the live footage retrospectively, but if you hold tight the official music video this has all been leading to will be released. Among the suggestions thrown in by fans for the interactive one-take video shoot, sending cheerleaders, a bad [...]

I love this new Ghostpoet track because it sounds like something that was ripped from the middle of a mix, it's got Jamie xx-style steel pans and is a general blast of fresh air.The original track was created for the
Filed under: News PA Photos Earlier this year, British rapper, producer and multi-instrumentalist Mike Skinner announced he would be retiring the Streets -- the hip-hop project he's masterminded for more than a decade -- after his fifth album, 'Computers and Blues.' That record dropped in February, and true to his word, Skinner played what is being called the final Streets gig last night (Nov. 26) in Skegness, England. On [...]
