Jim-E Stack could have not kicked off 2012 any stronger. His newest EP "Come Between" is super tight and entrancing. This Wednesday, February 1st, all of Webster Hall will be celebrating the release of "Come Between" with a little help from NIKKO , Mess Kid and Azizaman. Here are some tunes to pre party with;
Are you up on these iLLmont cats from Atlanta? If not, you need to stop reading for a second and download their latest project, the Bruh LP, which is one of the most refreshing hip-hop efforts I've heard in a minute. Then, peep their video with Danny! for " Payback ". Done? Good, because now you can fully appreciate and get down with iLLmont's own video for Bruh standout "Miscellaneous Info". It should go without saying that we're excited to premiere this one, but yeah, we are . Love that use of [...]
Moving On is the newest EP coming from my homie CHANGE. Today is such a chill day for such a chill EP. 3 tracks, all great and packed with positive energy. I feel like a motivational speaker but this EP just really really works on a nice relaxing day such as today. So Listen & [...]
Here's an interesting story and interview by Morley Safer of 60 Minutes regarding Jake Barnet, a thirteen-year-old math and science prodigy. Seems like a good kid. And here's the 60 Minutes Overtime video:
![[EXCLUSIVE MASHUP] Azealia Banks vs. Sky Ferreira: 212 Anonymous Haters](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3986860_lg.jpg)
I am ecstatic to present my first EVER mashup! I decided to team up NYC's new favorite brazenly badass lady rapper Azealia Banks and LA's favorite rebellious bad girl of pop Sky Ferreira the moment I heard '2122. I couldn't keep Sky's track 'Haters Anonymous' from creeping into my brain, so from that my first mashup was born! Now they are one cocky, grimy, unruly track, '212 Anonymous Haters' MP3: 212 Anonymous Haters by Azealia Banks vs. Sky Ferreira Azealia Banks Official [...]
By Vincent Rendoni I'm visiting my family in Washington. I've only been at my mother's house for about four hours, but I'm already reaching for a couple of beers. I take them from the outside fridge, and speed past barking dogs and bickering relatives to my mother's deck. I close the sliding glass door and suddenly it's quiet. I light a citronella candle to fend off mosquitoes and crane flies, sit myself in a lounge chair out of sight from my family, and take in the sunset over Puget Sound. I have this one rule: I don't drink alone. Except [...]
Hey Kids, So this week, I'm getting high off my own supply. Luckily, I deal music and not coke. Anyways, in this post we have Mister Mistress covering both "Heartbeat" by Childish Gambino, and "We Found Love" by Rihanna. Mister Mistress is currently busy recording their new EP, and wanted to give a nice treat [...]
Hey kids, I just caught wind of this new Cris Cab jam. I am personally a huge Cab fan, and this new song "One Thing" does not dissapoint. It has that lovely island, reggae-pop sound to it and finds a way to get stuck in your head easily. Look for new release, Echo Boom, on [...]

Launching Kick Kick Snare and being able to share my daily musical observations, and experiences has changed my life entirely. Best decision I've ever made. Just within this last year, I welcomed three stellar contributing writers to the platform, I was chosen by GRAMMY to be the official electronica and dance blogger for the 54th award season, traveled the U.S. attending more concerts and festivals then Craig can count, hosted KKS's first string of industry showcases, booked over 20 acts and interviews, started the 8 year process that is the redesign of the site, [...]
Hey kids, You all know I have a minor obsession with the duo VIBE. Off of their latest release, which is free, Hakuna Matata, this is the video for "Still a Kid at Heart." If you have any nostalgia at all for the days of youth you will love this. Still a Kid at Heart [...]

Hello! It's been seventh months, but New York Rockmarket is up and running once again. Over the last half year, I've spent all my musical energy music supervising a new show on ABC called Final Witness. It's going to air in March, and I can't wait to share everything I've been working on with you. Some New York Rockmarket favorites will be featured on the show, like Thee Oh Sees, JEFF the Brotherhood, Kurt Vile, Widowspeak, Young Man, Tennis, Parenthetical Girls, and I've discovered a ton of new music I love now, like Sean Rowe, Family Band, BOBBY, Barn Owl, [...]
Hey guys, I know it's been a while but I have a treat for you here. 10 days ago, Shwayze & Cisco rolled through my hometown of Fort Collins, CO. The whole family over at BananaBeat Records was super chill, and gave me an hour or so to come kick it and ask them a [...]
Talk about an artist that is soon to be blowing up... look no further than Manhattan MC Anthem. After featuring him on our latest edition of Best You Never Heard he has since eclipsed over 10,000 fans on facebook and has been able to put out even more dope music and music videos to accompany some of [...]

Last month I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Cedaa, a young and exciting artist that is making great music and getting some much deserved early attention. Cedaa just made an amazing mix for XLR8R and broke into the New York scene with a strong CMJ showcase. I was thrilled when he agreed to do a small interview, and mp3 download. What were some of your music influences growing up in Seattle? What music from Seattle influenced your music? Proximity to water has always been a big influence. I grew [...]

The Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival is way more comprehensive, central located, packed with talent and food trucked out then ever before. The event is essentially twice as long, Friday and Saturday and taking up just about all of N6th Street in Williamsburg. For a 1 day $25 or 2 day $45 pass you have access to 6 venues in Williamsburg, including Brooklyn Bowl (which is not on N6th Street) to see the best electronic music acts out. Find out more, here .

So protocol demands handwritten personal acknowledgements on fancy cards from the local paperie shop. But this is the blogger world, so the equivalent is an open letter for all my readers to see just how deeply appreciative I am. Plus, pens cause carpel tunnel and the resulting wrist brace would cover my very precious ID bracelet. That said: First, thank you to the folks at Live in the Vineyard. What an incredible festival, and completely owing to a slate of outstanding people-most notably Bobbii Hach-Jacobs, Clair Parr, Sean Ramm from LITV and Starwood's Paige Francis. They [...]

CMJ has never really made sense to me. A bunch of bands, acts and DJs performing a week long festival in NYC. It is hardly the place to host a festival. Isn't there always lots of acts all year around at very close venues? Where CMJ can succeed is by showcasing more than up and coming acts, but perhaps a new idea. Thus, BPM 2011 is born. This event is about show casing new and innovative minds that are pioneering a unique pulse, that is the backbone of genres already formed. The pride in this group is the fact that [...]
