In addition to making music, Quintron & Miss Pussycat are filmmakers as well, their most recent work is The Mystery in Old Bathbath , which is the latest adventure for puppet pals Trixie and the Treetrunks . Here's the synopsis: Something is wrong with the Happy Tree! For some reason, he can't send out secret messages anymore. Trixie and Marsha set off to an ancient spa town to find a cure before all his branches fall off. But this town is kind of funny and the historic Art Museum of Bathbath seems to [...]

The indirectly-yet-directly Grammy-nominated Quintron & Miss Pussycat , the musical husband-wife duo, will hit the road for an extensive set of tour dates. The band, still basking in the glory of their Sucre Du Sauvage LP , will kick off their three-month tour in Atlanta at The Earl, heading North to play two NYC shows: at 285 Kent on 4/28 with Bosco Delrey , Cellular Chaos , DJ Musa , and Glittering Prizes and Mercury Lounge on 4/29 with [...]

review by Suzi Pratt all photos by Marianne Spellman During the dreary Seattle winter chill, two Seattleites were lucky to escape to the other side of the continent for the second annual Bruise Cruise Festival , sailing from Miami to the Bahamas. The three-day escapade is hardly your retired grandmother's cruise, although there were plenty of those on board as well. Instead, Bruise Cruise is like summer camp for some five hundred tattooed, cigarette-smoking indie rockers and hipsters who devoured fruity drink concoctions and action-packed music sets all weekend long. Unlike other huge, multi-stage music fests, [...]
Pop-up books were pretty great to have during the pre-Vimeo age, so it's a delight that the team of Katie Maren and Mike P. Nelson bring such a book to life in local group Still Pacific's new music v
Wild and wooly one-man-electro-dance-rock-swa mp-man-band, Quintron will team up with Miss Pussycat for massive Summer tour. He's also released his latest album, Sucre Du Sauvage recently through Goner Records. During the making of his latest effort, Quintron stayed in the New Orleans City Park . He made field recordings at night of the animal and nature sounds and then wove them into his music by day. He recorded thousands of hours of tape, and so electronic and acoustic instruments blur together with ducks, [...]

I love Quintron and Miss Pussycat. They’re the modern B-52s and in the best possible way…listen to Swamp Buggy Badass and tell me you don’t hear Rock Lobster . Their youtube live videos are alot of fun and to bring it home their marriage may or may not be incest . Quintron and Miss Pussycat- Face Down in the Gutter -Elliot Rambach

Day 4 of SXSW was perhaps the most fun of all, and it began with the most delicious vegan peanut butter cup I’ve ever had. I washed it down with an agave wheat beer at the Spider House, where Norwegian noisers the Megaphonic Thrift rocked me back to the early nineties with their can’t-quite-put-my-finger-on -it nostalgic noise concoction. It felt like a couple dashes of Dino J, a pinch of Sugar, and a sprinkle of… what? The Meat Puppets? Tripmaster Monkey? Poster Children? You know how the smell of pink sawdust can bring [...]
Adele & Lucinda Williams top the charts in this week's countdown of the highest selling albums at Nashville record stores Grimey's & The Groove.

Local organist/mad scientist Quintron and his performance artist partner in crime Miss Pussycat just put the finishing touches on a new album, Sucre Du Savage, recorded under circumstances that can be considered unique even by the standards of the Crescent City's most esoteric musical duo. As part of the exhibit "Parallel Universe - Quintron and Miss Pussycat Live at City Park", the husband/wife team reported to the New Orleans Museum of Art (located in scenic City Park) every day for three months to record the album in completely public gallery space. It should come as no surprise that [...]
Frustrated with the crowd's lack of enthusiasm, Quintron never ceased to try to spark some energy throughout his set with Miss Pussycat at The Legion.

I said I would have some news for you. This winter, the New Orleans Museum of Art kicks off its 2010 Contemporary exhibition schedule with a celebration of Quintron and Miss Pussycat . Parallel Universe: Quintron and Miss Pussycat Live at City Park will be a multimedia presentation designed to acquaint audiences with their work from previous years, and to highlight their new projects including the debut of a new video by Miss Pussycat, and an original music album by Quintron, which will be recorded entirely on-site at the New Orleans Museum of Art. How cool [...]
Quintron invented the dream-machine-slash-drum-machi ne called the Drum Buddy and Miss Pussycat invented Pussycat Caverns for her puppets, and during slower moments at their Spellcaster Lodge in New Orleans Quintron compiles the Great Organ Moments thrift-store organ classics compilations. He talks now to John Henry about what organs he loves and what organs he respectfully fears.
Man, I don't get it. I thought I was friends with all these local music video directors. I guess you come up to New York and they think you just don't care any more. Well, I do! Here is the latest and what I believe the first official Quintron music video ever for the song "Freedom" off their amazing new album, Too Thirsty For Love .Directed by my good friends Daryn DeLuco and Drew Stubbs. Somehow, Gambit's blog figured out how to embed it so head there to see it.

Boy am I happy today has arrived. Today means I am only 2 days away from not being afraid to check our Twitter or getting drunk dials or texts from New Orleans. Also, hopefully our hits will go back up to a normal amount come Wednesday. Here are a few neat things going on tonight. Quintron w/ Andrew W.K. So, THE event of Lundi Gras is always Quintron and Miss Pussycat at One Eyed jacks and this year [...]
Flossie and The Unicorns sound like furry animals playing dance music on teeny-tiny guitars, eensy-weensy drums, and itty-bitty synthesizers. So simple and perfect, it's almost frightening. - Album description on Amazon Oddity among even some of the biggest musical oddities, F&TU (not to confuse with The Unicorns) is the first puppet band (occasionally aided by actual [...]
by jaqui saf Quintron & Miss Pussycat delivered their soul blasting-psychedelic-underwate r funk for some lucky fools at Churchill's Pub in Miami last night. The show was the duo's final stop on their Too Thirsty 4 Love tour, leaving the world temporarily devoid of pre-concert puppet shows. Artist: Quintron [...]
by j*starsteadyrockin Listening to new tracks from Too Thirsty 4 Love , the new album by match-made-in-mars duo, Quintron and Miss Pussycat is making me feel like I sipped on some sizzurp and went to the roller disco. WATERFALL BY QUINTRON: Quintron plays an organ that (certainly by means of magic) is half-Hammond, half-Rhodes and made to look like a car with working headlights and exhaust. But then again, he did create the Drum Buddy, which is [...]

Ever meet a real live genius?? The Schitz camp did. We got to catch the Quintron and Miss Pussycat show on the weekend and better than that we got to shake the hand of the creator of the Drum Buddy and watch it used live. Pretty cool Schitz. I asked him if he would just give us the drum machine to gain some karma but he said no. too bad. Oh and there was another important question we asked Mr. Quint-rad. Schitz: "If there was no color in the world would you still be happy?" [...]
