Spencer Krug at age 17 Some things are just better left buried, but luckily for us, someone else has done all the digging. A while back , it came to the knowledge of we Spencer Krug fans that he was once in a ska band. I didn't believe it at first, but more substantial evidence surfaced, thus confirming the rumors. You most probably associate Krug with bands like Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown, Moonface, Frog Eyes, Swan Lake, or even Fifths of Seven. One that I'm guessing isn't on that [...]
The second release from Spencer Krug under his Moonface alias shows more of a tenebrous side than his past works with Wolf Parade and Sunset Rubdown, but don’t take that as a bad thing.

Moonface: With Siinai: Heartbreaking Bravery - Moonface is a project of Canadian multi-instrumentalist, Spencer Krug. If you aren't familiar with Moonface or Spencer Krug, sometimes art speaks louder than words. Moonface is merely one of 4 projects that he's part of... Sunset Rubdown which resembles this iteration the closest, Wolf Parade and Swan Lake. Moonface is the solo alias of the endlessly prolific Wolf Parade/Sunset Rubdown/Swan Lake man Spencer Krug. And someone will probably think this is sacrilege, but " Teary Eyes And Bloody Lips ," the icily synth-throbbing first single from Moonface's new album With Siinai: Heartbreaking Bravery (recorded with Finnish krautrockers Siinai) is easily my favorite thing that Krug has ever done. The song's video, directed by Marsha Balaeva , shows time-lapse footage of ghostly shapes careening across landscapes. Watch the video and stream With Siinai: Heartbreaking Bravery below. Spencer Krug a/k/a that guy that was in Wolf Parade and Sunset Rubdown has a new project forthcoming. Recording under his alias Moonface, Krug is joined on the record ( Heartless Bravery ) by Finnish krautrock band Siinai. "Headed for the Door", a sweeping almost cinematic 7-minute plus track, plods about for its first 4 minutes or so but the payoff really comes in about 4:40 when a wall of cascading guitars crash into the track. Moonface ( Facebook ) [...]

Género: Psychedelic Pop, Progressive Electronic, Art Pop.
Wolf Parade’s Spencer Krug quietly dropped an excellently titled solo record, Organ Music Not Vibraphone Like I’d Hoped , as Moonface last year, and he’s already plotting the follow-up, Heartbreaking Bravery , which was recorded with some assistance from Finnish band Siinai , Wolf Parade’s onetime tour partners. The record’s first single is the expansive, atmospheric new-wave cut “Teary Eyes and Bloody Lips,” an updated take on those sweeping, driving, soaring lovesick cuts pioneered in the ‘80s by bands like the Smiths and Echo and the Bunnymen . Undulating, [...]
