I have always been a little wary of Celtic Connections , because my interest in folk music sort of peters out as it gets closer and closer to purely traditional forms, which dominates a fair bit of the festival. Not that they don't give loads of airtime to the crossover of folk into contemporary pop music, because they very much do, it's just that only a certain percentage of the lineup is ever really going to appeal to me personally, that's all. This is a great Mountain Stage performance from by Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit (Jimbo Hart on bass, Derry deBorja on keyboards, Chad Gamble on drums and Browan Lollar on slide guitar), the band performed five tracks from last years wonderful self titled album, which has never being far from my turntable since it's release.
