Last month, prior to their appearance at SXSW 2013 , we gave away Scanners ' 'Control' in this mp3 of the day and more post. The song featured on the the 'Mexico' EP, and now you can grab the mp3 of the title track here.
The Good Natured are offering up this free track 'Lovers' from their long-awaited debut album 'Prism' out this summer - for absolutely free. I love the spunk of Sarah McIntosh's vocals in here; I'm finding she's providing a great, alternative, strong female voice in the absence of Lily Allen. There is an accompanying promo video to go with it too, following the band around as they go shopping and pose, sometimes awkwardly, in the London streets. Grab the song and watch the video below. Youngblood Hawke are offering up their new track 'Dannyboy' as a free mp3 just by signing up for their mailing list. First, listen to the stream below. Like it? You can grab it after entering a couple details here.

During their last year's tour date in Philadelphia, Simian Mobile Disco recorded their live show in one take, with no edits. This will be released for the fittingly but rather boringly titled 'Live' album, to be put out by seminal German techno label Kompakt on the 15th of April on Delicacies. As an offering ahead of the album's release, James Ford and Jas Shaw are offering up this version of their track 'Wooden' done in a studio in January 2013 with the same live ethos as 'Live' but under more controlled conditions. Listen [...]

Manchester's Delphic are at it again with the latest in a string of confounding actions. In January it was the less than wowing release of 'Collections'. The latest? They've taken 'Rehab' by late cult soul singer Amy Winehouse of the pop genre they've professed to love so much and remixed it. Seems as random as the time they covered Cheryl Cole's '3 Words' in the Radio1 Live Lounge. I'm not a fan of Winehouse, but I'm wondering, was this really necessary? [...]
We previewed Leeds lads China Rats in the rock / metal / punk UK bands chapter of the TGTF Guide to SXSW 2013. Now they're like to offer you something free for the taking: 'Nip It in the Bud', a track produced last November with London producer Hugh Worskett ( Delphic ,

I'm excited. The 1975 from Manchester are coming to my town 2 weeks after SXSW 2013. (We profiled them in the UK electronic acts chapter of the TGTF Guide to SXSW 2013. ) When they are in Washington, they will be playing DC9, where Delphic made their local debut in 2010. Synthesiser band vs. synthesiser band...should be interesting if the 19752s set will rival the Delphs'... But I digress... The purpose of today's MP3 of the Day post? The 1975 are [...]
I caught Adelaide, Australia's Atlas Genius open for Wolf Gang at this DC show in October. Consider this your notice ahead of their stratospheric rise to fame, as the band release 'When It Was Now' in America on Warner on Tuesday. The band are currently supporting Las Vegas band Imagine Dragons on a North American tour, before they shimmy themselves over to Austin for this year's SXSW in March. Catch them play KCRW's showcase at the Haven on Wednesday 13 March and The Warner [...]
Brighton's Cave Painting , who released the fantastic 'Votive Life' last year that I only recently got around to reviewing. Good thing I got that review out this week though, as there's word they will releasing an EP in America on the 26th of March, called 'Midnight Love'. (This track was released on their UK debut EP, 'You'll Be Running Soon', in 2011.) But if you're late to the Cave Painting game, you can grab the mp3 courtesy of Rolling Stone here. Catch [...]
Darwin Deez is offering up the Billy (William Brooks) remix of 'Free (The Editorial Me' for free, ahead of the release of his next album 'Songs for Imaginative People', scheduled to be released on the 11th of February. Young Fathers are described by their PR like this: "These are three fellas from Edinburgh who’ve been working together since they were 14, who have an elastic mind meld that mimics their fused sensibility of sound, one day locked themselves in a dingy Scottish basement and came out with something that’d never been done — a fearless combination of beat, rap and song that smells not only of its dark and dank birthplace, but of discovery and of communion." Interesting. Want to have a listen? We can do better than that. [...]
