While we continue to wait patiently for new material to surface from Spanish house wiz John Talabot and fellow beatmaker Pional , let's indulge in this gorgeously dub version of "Destiny", one of the absolute highlights of John Talabot's 2012 excellent debut LP "ƒIN". Grab this "dubtool version" for free below, and enjoy the ride. Download here

Ever since Foals decided to become a U2 cover band, there's been an opening in my heart for intelligent, quirky math-pop, and Genoa's DOCKS may well be the ones to fill the gaping hole. Having only formed earlier this year, the quartet comprised of Andre, Carlo, Matte and Wil, bear a striking sonic resemblance to the tracks that first made a name for Foals (Hummer, Cassius etc.), with their jerky guitar lines and percussion driven builds. It's not often that Italian acts feature on CitR, and it's even less frequent for me to be so excited [...]

Fresh out the blocks, Brooklyn's Ang Low backed by production duo Dan Drohan and Jeff Fettig, has just dropped his debut track, the stunning Life Goes Down. So it fits rather snuggly into the R&B / indie crossover, alongside the likes of Bipolar Sunshine and The Neighbourhood, with it's clean, precise production and slick vocal sectionsfa, but that's by no means a fault. With this, Ang Low's first release, it's ambitious and certainly crying out with commercial intentions, whilst remaining a touching love song at its silky core. Check out Life Goes Down below, and [...]

With the rise of new 4AD signee SOHN , we can be expected to hear a noticeable increase in the number of experimental, electronic 'sadcore' artists, much like Grimes leading the way for a horde of quirky female singers. Arqestry may take the pitch-shifted vocals to the extreme, and the veiled R&B inspirations prove almost over-powering at times, yet there's a subtle genius to the simplicity of Arqestry's music. His debut track, Fell , is a collision of irregular synths sections and looped, auto-tuned vocals, mystically haunting and ever-so unnerving. Check it out below.
London's house producer Mike Greene, aka Fort Romeau , is ready to drop his debut single "Jetée"/"Desire" for Ghostly International, which follows the "SW93 12" single on Spectra Sound from earlier this year. You can now listen to the A-Side "Jetée", an elegant, driving deep house cut that that just keeps on giving. Give the track a spin above, and download Fort Romeau's sublime remix of Holy Other's "Held" for free below. Fill it up! Fort Romeau's "Jetée"/"Desire" will arrive on June 24th. [...]

Polish electro-pop trio Kamp! just dropped the visual for their new single "Can't You Wait", featuring footage from their latest live tour. The track appears on last year's self-titled debut album, which includes the brilliant singles "Cairo" and "Melt". Peep the clip above, and grab the radio edit of "Can't You Wait" for free below. No Facebook, no website, no Twitter, no Soundcloud, no paper trail whatsoever in fact. Brooklyn (obviously) outfit The Yum Dee Days may have no backstory or indeed any information surrounding the group whatsoever, but they've managed to craft one of the finest debut LP's of the year thus far. Make It Rain is a very Beach Boys / The Beatles 602s style throwback; ten tracks of summery, surf pop, it's hard to imagine this not getting a label release. There's the lullaby swing of The Future Is A Drag , complete [...]

Hailing from Sydney, the mysterious act Terace recently caught our ears with their first single "Running", featuring New Zealand's Jupiter Project on vocal duties. It's a piano-driven house jam with instantly, addictive hooks. Today, we're pleased to premiere a remix of "Running" by up-and-coming Melbourne-based electronic duo Indian Summer , who already wowed us last month with their debut single "No Use" . Once again, Indian Summer put their own touch to the track, giving it a completely different vibe. It's [...]
Le Diamentaire is a member of the French Hip Hop collective DansLaCuisine, which, unfortunately is about all I know about him. It's not that he's a mysterious and shadowy figure, more the fact that I can't speak any French. You could argue that this would hinder my enjoyment of 'Fosse Commune', but, whatever they're saying, it sounds splendid. Organ stabs judder and hang, while the bass rolls underneath, lending the track an almost fairground vibe. Best of all, the track is completely free to download! God bless the internet. You can listen and grab it below.
Ah summer. We spend six months of the year anticipating the arrival of summer, and the other six months complaining that 'this is supposed to be summer'. How about for one year we just accept that we don't live in the med, and enjoy the sparse periods of sun that we do receive? Noble Savage , a new project from Canadian musician Trevor Lang, appears to embody this very ethos, mixing tribal Talking Heads -esque percussion with the disjointed warmth of Animal Collective. Check out Bloom below. ( via )

I'm not quite sure why it's taken me so long to realise that Bastille are just a watered down version of The Killers , without any of the bravado or Springsteen pompousness. Ontario quintet Fitness Club Fiasco undoubtedly owe a fair amount to the moustachioed mormon and co, with their sugary sweet, too epic for words single Goldmine . 'You've got me standing on a goldmine, when I'm looking into your eyes' serenades lead singer and chief songwriter Mike Harloff , on a chorus that is one of the most guiltily enjoyable of [...]
I've been sitting on this track from Provo's Lake Island for the best part of ten days now, trying to work out 1) whether I actually like it, 2) quite why it is that I like it. Several listens later and I've come to the conclusion that 1) I do like it, and that somewhat bizarrely, I'm still unable to answer 2). So it has touches of early Coldplay (think Parachutes, Rush of Blood to the Head), yet with tender undertones, marked most pointedly by the imperfect nature of the vocals. Check out Grindstone [...]

Well this was unexpected. After BODYWORK wowed us earlier this year with a rather unstoppable track called "Tame" , we mostly expected the English newcomers to release another single or two, get signed, maybe an EP, tour with the xx and then release a debut a year later... you know, the ushe '. Behold, there's still room in this hyper-connected world for the rare surprise or two and BODYWORK's debut LP The Grind is full of 'em. Here's the album's title track: Download [...]

Last month, Italians Do It Better finally dropped their superb "After Dark 23 compilation that has been on repeat in our car stereo. Now, Chromatics/Glass Candy mastermind Johnny Jewel has been kind enough to offer a free download of "After Dark 23 as a long single track. Grab it below. Tracklisting: 01. Glass Candy - Warm In The Winter 02. Desire - Tears From Heaven 03. Mirage - Let's Kiss 04. Appaloosa - Fill The Blanks 05. Chromatics - Looking For Love [...]

In Flagranti's 'Brash & Vulgar' (taken from the 2009 album of the same name) uses, well, brash and vulgar Italo-style synths to a rather tasteful effect. To celebrate In Flagranti's new EP on the Phantasy imprint, Erol Alkan is handing out an edit (under his old Disco 3000 guise) that was once a staple of his sets. The edit chops the track up and slaps a crunchier beat on top. Cop the freebie:

Brooklyn's Selebrities just dropped a brand new track, called "Lovers", and it sounds so good. This 80s-influenced synth-pop jam is the second single from the group's forthcoming new album "Lovely Things", which drops on June 15th via Cascine. Grab the track for free below, and watch the video for Selebrities' previous single "Temporary Touch", directed by Holland Brown. Download here
Hat-tip to the ever fantastic Dance Yourself Clean for putting me onto French For Rabbits (that repost feature on Soundcloud works wonders). Slightly Marling-y in parts, Goat is described by the duo as "a lament on stubbornness and being sorry." and it certainly feels like a song written by someone constantly blaming themselves for the failings of a relationship. Check out Goat below.

It's time to reconnect with The Swiss boys. After a very long wait, our beloved Adelaide-based disco duo of Luke Million and Tony Mitolo are back in the game with their brand new four-track EP "Elouisa" on Kitsuné, their first original material since 2011 superb single "Double Or Nothing" / "Womanthem" for Modular. The EP features two original tracks, the disco funky jams "Elouisa" and "Peach Pit" and two fantastic remixes of the title track by Late Nite Tuff Guy and Villa. The latter will [...]

German electronic producer Siriusmo has just unveiled this weird video for the tracks "Itchy" and "Corner Boy", taken from his upcoming second album "Enthusiast", which drops on June 14 via Modeselektor's Monekytown imprint. Starring Roman Geike, aka MC Roman. Directed by Jakob Grunert. mpFree: Siriusmo: "Itchy"

Great news! La.Ga.Sta.'s favorite In Flagranti , the unstoppable disco-obsessed duo of Sasha Crnobrnja and Alex Gloor, are ready to drop their brand new EP for Phantasy. To whet your appetite, Erol Alkan has offered up this great unreleased edit of In Flagranti's "Brash & Vulgar" as a free download. He made this edit on a train a few years ago under the moniker Disco 3000. Some things simply never, never get old. Download it for a "Like" on Erol Alkan's [...]
