Chopped & edited down like four slices of beef being laid out on a smoky BBQ oven (and with one of them suddenly cutting out at the end - so apologies for that Aerials!), this Soulwax inspired collection aims to celebrate the achievements of Stephen Dewaele, David Dewaele, Stefaan Van Leuven and Steve Slingeneyer - in observing their worldwide command as a highly superior live performance based band from Ghent in Belgium. Happy days are here once more. SOULWAX – Another Excuse (DFA Remix) [...]

So did you hear, STADE 3 is out and it's free on the highly suicidal www.oizo3000.com ? I was up at 2am (Australian time, yo) trying to download this frantically. I succeeded after the site crashed 4.5 zillion times, but I think it was worth it in the end. STADE 3 is a crisp blend of all the sounds that have become familiar, nostalgic and classically Oizo over time. I was slightly worried that this EP would fall into the trap of being overtly experimental bleeps and bloops but [...]
Yoyoyo! Apparemment pour célébrer le 100 000ième follower sur twitter Mr Oizo donne gratuitement 7 nouvelle tracks. You heard me right son NEW MR OIZO! Idioteque - Radiohead @ HP Pavilion, San Jose, 2012-April-11. The incredible lighting as seen in the picture above is by Andi Watson ( interview ) who has been doing Radiohead's lighting/stage design since almost the beginning of when the band first started touring nationally. Thank you W.A.S.T.E. for the incredible seats. One of the best Radiohead shows I have ever seen, and that's mainly because of the lighting. Not enough time has passed to call these songs throw backs, but the landscape of the EDM (Electronic Dance Music) world has changed significantly since their creation. Considering my emersion into this world was relatively recent, 2006, I find myself wondering about the history of electronic music, recent and long past. The explosion of dubstep around 2009 really intensified my love for EDM. Rusko's Jahova was the first wobble to grace my ears. Broken records don't repeat as much as Jahova did. Dubstep led me to Drum & Bass, even though the latter came first. Nu-disco and Electro Funk have [...]
For those who live in the GTA and are a huge fan of EDM, then you've must been or at least heard of Arcade Fridays at MOD Club. One of the best venues and bookings for international to local DJ's and producers to play at. I've been a huge fan of this weekly event and this time I'm showing my support to two fellow Toronto DJ's that have made it to the Top 202s in the current contest that Arcade Fridays are holding. Check out the two mixtapes below and to vote, just click "like" on the direct Facebook link! [...]
An oldie but a goodie, I've been dropping this one in some of my dj sets recently to a pretty devastating effect. Between Tiga's bizarro lyrics and Mr. Oizo's crushing electro style, there's really nothing not to like in this one. Tiga - Shoes (Mr. Oizo Remix) Some diabolical electro-house here from Canada's own Torro Torro. Torro Torro - Knockin' Boots (Original Mix) Mylo and Sharooz give

Rynecologist is a name that's starting to pop up more and more often, and is certainly someone to be keeping a close eye on. Having received serious props from most of electro's big guns including Tiga, Busy P, Mr Oizo, Brodinski and DJ Mehdi to name a few. There isn't much online about him - I know that he's from Canada, and that he looks like a bit of a crazy dude - but that's about it. Can anyone enlighten me?? In the meantime - check out his badass remix of 'Kontact Me' by Boys Noize. [...]
WMC week was about three weeks ago and I think I may have finally started to recover. Terror had a major post pretty much detailing the entire trip and I must say, it captured most of what went down. If you have never been to Miami during WMC, I highly suggest making the trip no matter the cost. It is by far the most ragetastic, vaytarded week of the year, as evidence of my three week hangover. Below I posted some of my favorites from the week so please enjoy. Ultra Vitamins [...]

Heya. So. Friday was quite something. I'm pleased to say that everything went off without a hitch, everyone played great sets, and I think it's safe to say that everyone had a great time. As it turns out, Steve Aoki is a pretty nice guy. I would also say, surprisingly... unassuming . Or at least, that was my experience. But holy shit , when he gets up on stage, and grabs that mic, and starts doing the scream-along to Warp - It's [...]

Boys Noize is set to release his first Transmissions remix pack on February 8, 2010, on his self titled label, Boys Noize Records . Featuring remixes from Mr. Oizo , Tiga , DJedjotronic , Untold , and Boys Noize himself, this release is sure to contain some bangers. Mr. Oizo serves up his normal dose of madness with his remix, featuring the chaotic cut up samples and analog distortion that we've grown to love. You can also preview [...]

Whoa, whoa... Mr. Oizo + Boys Noize is like peanut butter and chocolate, great as single entities but even greater united. Boys Noize's Transmission remixes come in two parts: the first showcases Mr. Oizo and Djedjotronic remixes and the second has remixes from Tiga , Untold , and James Ruskin . So be on the lookout! Boys Noize - Transmission (Mr. Oizo remix) [...]

After a few days away, I've got a few nice bits to share with you. While thinking about my favourite albums of 2009, I realised how disappointed I was with Boys Noize 's 'Power'. I do like 'Gax' and I also thought 'Starter' and 'Sweet Light' are genuine electro bangers but the whole LP came across too experimental and very detached from the Oi Oi Oi sound that thrust BN into electro royalty. It's hardly like his disappointments list is a long one, though. The next single release is due in February, with a two-part [...]

Boys Noize Records has been doing great lately. Their latest release " Delta Disco " by Strip Steve really got me pumped. I'm also looking out for the Transmission EP by Boys Noize which is coming out in February. A nice fact about the EP is that it will be divided into two parts, part 1 will be released on the 8th of February while part 2 is set two weeks later. The other main difference between the two parts are the artists remixing it. Part 1 will represent remixes from Mr.Oizo and [...]

^ Changing Lives Mr. Oizo is definitely an Apes With Barrels favorite, ¡yay experimental french electro-house! , and I recently happened upon a remix he did of Doctor L back in 2000 titled 'Strange Shit Happens (Mr. Oizo Remix)' which was missing from my essentially complete collection of his music (His remix of Ark 's Punkadelic was only released on Vinyl, and is relatively rare, unfortunately it will probably never surface, and the tracks 'Pig', 'Tnust', and ' Half A Square ' continue to elude internet exposure) I apologize to those of [...]
