Last night, MTV2 aired their second annual Sucker Free Awards, which were held at LIV in Miami. I had the opportunity to vote on the various categories, and I hate to brag, but I was 100% on picking the winners (check the records). Maybe I was the only one to vote? Naaaah.... Anyhoo, Kanye West brought home two awards alongside Jay-Z for Classic Album of the Year ( Watch The Throne ), and Club Banger of the Year ("Paris"). Hit the jump to see a full list of last night's [...]

In the first clip, Stalley takes MTV2 to the Massillon vs. McKinley game at Hall of Fame field in Canton, Ohio to watch the biggest high school football rivalry in the country. In the second clip, Stalley takes the crew around his hometown of Massillon to show them where he grew up and the effect Massillon has had on his music. With just six weeks to go until the kickoff of the debut North American tour by Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds on November 7th (at Massey Hall in Toronto), and the release of Noel's solo debut album, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds , the next day on November 8th in the U.S. on Sour Mash/Mercury Records - it was revealed that #1 Internet music destination hosted the premiere of the Mike Bruce directed video for "If I Had A Gun," the first U.S. single from the album. When it comes to live performance , everything is game for the guys in MUTEMATH . Whether it's flipping over keyboards or crowd surfing and doing back flips off of drums, they're are no strangers to acrobatics. So when watching MTV2's premiere of their new video for the song "Blood Pressure", it's no surprise that the same energy translates as they manage to fly in circles and levitate mid-air while rocking out from beginning to end. In this New Orleans/blues sounding track, new guitarist Todd Gummerman fits right in and if this is any inkling of the musical/artistic direction [...]

Check out this video from MTV's 120 Minutes of lo-fi prodigy Dean Wareham and his band Luna playing "California (All The Way)" from the 1994 album, Bewitched . The show, which ran from 1986 until 2000 on MTV and until 2003 on MTV2, has been recently revived with Matt Pinfield as its host. Indie's current preponderance on late night TV is nothing short of phenomenal given its marginal status even ten years ago. We simply wouldn't have Fleet Foxes playing SNL if it weren't for Dean Wareham fighting the good fight 20 years ago. Luna [...]

So the here are the photos from last night's MTV2 VMA event (sponsored by Taco Bell: Feed the Beat) at the Music Box in Hollywood. It was an awesome time. Wallpaper. rocked the house and so did Chiddy Bang. We bounced before hearing Swizz Beatz, but before doing so got to meet Pitbull, which was pretty awesome in and of itself. He's a fun, energetic gentleman. Video clips from the show are forthcoming (once they're done rendering). The VMA's on Sunday 8/28 should be spectacular given what we witnessed earlier.
August 20th would have been "Dimebag" Darrell's 45th birthday, and like every birthday since he has passed, there has been an event held in Dallas called Ride for Dime. It started off as just a bike ride, and then it slowly morphed into an event honoring the greatest fucking guitar player who ever lived. MTV2's ...

Ah man you haven't heard of Matt Pinfield ? What's wrong with you? You must of been really stoned in the 902s or your're from Canada. The music industry in the world of DJs and VJs was pretty much catered and curated by him all the way from with his early College Radio days in the mid 802s to today. If there is a up and coming act Uncle Matty knows about them - no researcher tells him. He just listens and literally gives them a spin. One of those place was the old Melody Bar on French Street [...]

Tweet Buy the album from Amazon - Vinyl / MP3 / CD There's something in my genes that loves percussion at a deep and primal level. I can't explain it much further than this: I remember my dad drumming along on the steering wheel to anything he was listening to. He never sang or hummed along to the melodies, just drummed it out. Also, my younger brother taught himself [...]
Harlem emcee Rugz D. Bewler recently dropped a Sucker Free Freestyle on this week's (July 24th) MTV22s Sucker Free Countdown.

Now the special, titled " Radiohead: The King of Limbs - From The Basement ", is set to make its U.S. television debut this Saturday, July 23 on Palladia and MTV2 . The special features Radiohead performing their latest album ' The King Of Limbs ' as well as new non-album tracks and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage. " Radiohead: The King of [...]
There used to be a time when insomniacs (or just downright music enthusiasts) could turn on the television and actually find programming that involved the music industry. Believe it or not, but MTV actually meant Music Television and not Media Television, or whatever the hell they're calling it these days. Apparently, the Viacom-owned conglomerate, which produces quality television like Jersey Shore , 16 and Pregnant , True Life , and I'm A Horrible Person, So Gimme a Show (okay, so that last one's not a show, but...), is having a change of heart - or [...]
With good reason, MTV's 120 Minutes program just won't stay dead. The program, which has long been dedicated to alternative music, originally aired from 1986 through 2000 before meeting its maker for the first time. It was then resuscitated for placement on MTV2, where it remained from 2001 through 2003. In recent years, 120 Minutes has served as a music video program of sorts for VH1. And now, some eight years later, 120 Minutes will return to MTV2 at the end of July. Matt Pinfield [...]
This is a great look for Add. Shouts to MTV2 on that.
