Original Illustration by Yuri Priamo-Canales BY PETER LILLIS Our God is an awesome God. He’s also contemptible, contradictory, impulsive, bizarre, exploitative, irreverent, dependent, anarchic, inebriated, loud and wrong. But, as his teachings have shown over the years: No one is perfect. By now, it’s no secret that Kanye West has returned this week with his sixth solo full-length album, the aptly titled Yeezus . It’s also no secret that he’s a new father to a baby girl, who is publicly unnamed as of presstime. Despite his new [...]
Because F*CK YEAH, that's why. Twerk it Thursdays. Pin It
Never thought I'd get beaten out to posting a Lorde Remix! Oh well, good work on the find Juligan. I suppose I need to branch out more anyway (or just post quicker!)... Here's the most recent release from Stockholm's The Royal Concept, in "On Our Way." For a band that ... Read More

Piggybacking on Chuck and Francis' posts on New Zealand artist, Lorde, I'm gonna throw in a nod to her Australian neighbor, L D R U, who just remixed her track, "The Love Club." Known for more of a Trap sound, for this remix he sticks to the original elements and ... Read More

I'm still not exactly sure how I'd describe the music of Lola's Bad . It's definitely experimental and often dark, which I'm 100% down for, but I still don't know what I'd call it. What I've got here tonight is two tracks off her Miss Abyss 2046 EP, one's called "Kissing The Night" and the other's called "Pray". Both are very interesting listens, and I'm curious to get all your opinions on these. Push play below and let us know what you think in the comment section at the bottom of the page. The girl definitely has talent. I'm [...]

So Sydney three-piece MOVEMENT have recently joined Modular Records for a release on their brand new ' CLUB MOD ' imprint. Yep, the record company that has gone on to achieve success with acts like THE AVALANCHES , YEAH YEAH YEAHS and TAME IMPALA (just to name a few!). So if you haven't heard of these guys, they have just released their forthcoming single 'Feel Real' and within the first minute it all makes sense why Modular welcomed them to their family. [...]
Portugal. The Man recently came out with their seventh studio album, Evil Friends. Despite my love of a couple of their albums, I haven't yet fully listened to Evil Friends. I plan to soon though, and you should also do the same because of the half listen I gave it was classic Portugal. The Man. [...] Like this? Check out some Related Posts: New Music Video: Portugal. Earlier this year, in a post titled Slim Whitman Is Amazing , I spotlighted the long and varied career of the iconic country music star. It has now been reported that he has died at age 90 in Florida, apparently of natural causes. I've reactivated the song link on that earlier post, and have also replaced the video, which had been deactivated at its source. (There are also a couple of good video songs in the comments section below the post). And finally, I've also included a new song link [...]

Last night at the Paris Theatre in NYC Madonna premiered the MDNA Tour DVD as we were lucky enough to be in attendance! The historic theatre, the opening of which Madonna informed us had been attended by Marlene Dietrich back in the 1940s - thus inspiring her look for the night, was packed to the seams [...]

Cousin band of Tame Impala, Pond has released a trippy rock anthem known as "Xanman". The Aussie rock band flexes their psych-rock muscles in a jam that has a way of washing over your mind no matter how many times it's spun. I'm up to about twelve and seem to enjoy it more and more each time. This song is absolute brain candy. The whole track revolves around one gut-busting bass riff that disappears at times only to return with more oomph each time. Messy layers of reverb, distortion, and fuzz drip off the song like [...]

Klaus Layer is a German producer that some of y'all might know as Captain Crook. He changed up his name sometime recently and is ringing in the transition with a brand-new record. Literally. He linked with Redefinition Records to put out a flexi-disc single for his dusty, meticulously layered head-nodder, "Illest In Charge", featuring Blu . Ya know, it's been absolutely awesome watching Blu team up with so many up-and-coming producers, from L'Orange to, well, Klaus Layer. Someone really needs to put together a mix of all dude's guest features over the past year or [...]

![Watch: Daughter - Youth [New Video]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/5015563_lg.jpg)
Words: Saam Das The debut album from London trio Daughter was easily one of our most anticipated of the year - while it didn't quite meet our high expectations, it did offer some gems. The highlight of 'If You Leave' was perhaps 'Youth', a hauntingly reflective tale of past love, which now has its own video. The track originally appeared on 'The Wild Youth' , a 2011 EP, before going onto [...]
![[Mixtape] Max Bouvagnet: “18″](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/5015535_lg.jpg)
Almost out of nowhere late last night, Max Bouvagnet released a nine-track project entitled 18 . The young Chicago native previously dropped The Sleep EP , which gave us somewhat of an insight into the enigmatic artist's life, but in 18 , Max gets in even more personal as he chronicles experiences, thoughts, aspirations and fears a kid endures while turning 18. Max seamlessly transitions from spoken word to a chopped up flow to singing all while pouring out his emotions regarding love, loneliness, drugs, uncertainty and everything in between. In summary, Max [...]

by Bill Pearis Last year, San Diego duo TV Girl released the wildly clever and sample-heavy "mixtape" The Wild, The Innocent, The TV Shuffle free to the internet. Trung Ngo and Brad Petering have just followed that up with a new EP, Lonely Women , featuring five songs that mix hip hop beats with indiepop melodies and bitter/funny lyrics. A spoonful of sugar, they say. No snarky activity book with this one, and no [...]

This morning, The Arctic Monkeys released a new song, "Do I Wanna Know?", which is most likely the first single off of their new album. There isn't a date set for the upcoming album, but they did say that they were expecting a later 2013 release. The group has been playing shows in between all of their festival gigs performing this track, along with another entitled " Mad Sounds ." Both songs have a similar feel to their third album, Humbug , which was produced by Queens of the Stone Age front man Josh Homme. No word yet on [...]

MODA got the drop on Tegan and Sara’s “Closer” and were able to enlist Denny Berland, Andrea Corelli and Silvio Carrano to apply their touch for the remix. The original is already a heater, but the three progressive remixes have that clutch big room sound. Goes to show that EDM artists are going to be occupying some serious space in the Top 40 charts.
