If you can manage a spare second away from Daft Punk today, I highly recommend giving IS TROPICAL 's latest release I'm Leaving and especially the airy track " Sun Sun ". The track is a frolicy, breezy tune that will delight the ears of fans of lighthearted indie-rock. Lead singer Simon Milner 's raspy, sage vocals are reminiscent of Spoon lead singer Britt Daniel's. In fact, this whole song sounds like it's from the same recipe book of Spoon's classic "The Underdog". " Sun Sun [...]

Words: Saam Das It's been a while since we last heard the striking vocals of Aussie solo artist Matt Corby but it's been worth the wait. New single 'Resolution' premiered on Triple J radio in his homeland a few hours ago, and is now available for your listening pleasure worldwide below. Corby's 2012 'Into The Flame' EP suggested big things lay ahead, and 'Resolution' continues to press the case. Again, elements of [...]

If you haven’t listened to Parquet Courts debut record yet, stop reading this, drop what you’re doing, and get to it. These boys are the real deal. Dripping with attitude and paying not-so-subtle homage to the greats of ages past (The Velvet Underground, The Modern Lovers), they write songs that cut through the crap and hit like a ton of bricks. Guitarist Austin Brown plays angular riffs laced with enough acid to keep up with Andrew Savage’s lyrics packed with nuanced intelligence and the driest of humour. “A minute of your time?” asks Savage on stellar opener "Master Of My [...]

by Bill Pearis As mentioned, Kisses (Jesse Kivel of Princeton and Zinzi Edmundson) just released their second album, Kids in LA , via the Cascine label. Mining '80s synthpop sounds, the duo have a strong sense of songcraft and the record (produced by Saint Etienne's Pete Wiggs) makes for great light summer listening. You can stream the whole thing below. Kivel also features on "Borderline" from the new Classixx album (they [...]

Jacques Greene and How To Dress Well team up for one of Greene's 123 on Lucky Me. Krell lends his vocals to the quick tempo instrumental produced by Greene. Jacques Greene Feat. How to Dress Well - On Your Side The post Stream: Jacques Greene Feat. How to Dress Well - On Your Side appeared first on Vibe To This .
It isn't very surprising that Tom Krell's voice sounds great when set to a house beat, especially when its as infectious as what Montreal's Jacques Greene has prepared for him. Above you can listen to the radio edit of the How To Dress Well -assisted "On Your Side," premiered earlier today by BBC Radio 1 jockey and modern-day superhero Zane Lowe. The "One Your Side" EP will include a longer version of the titular track and should be out digitally on June 3rd. Read more articles like " Jacques Greene [...]
Action Bronson 's Saab Stories mixtape is out soon.

MANS are described as "an Iranian entrepreneur, an Italian metronome, a heartbroken Mongolian and a failed American Svengali". Given that, and comparisons ranging from Prince to Ed Banger via Robin Gibb, they were never going to go quietly. Released ahead of a forthcoming debut LP, the live-recorded Various Lovers grooves along like an hip, highfalutin peacock.

The VPME The Urban music festival has much to recommend it. Access to proper loos for example, a comfy bed at the end of the night and the reassurance that in the event of the heavens opening the terrain underfoot will not suddenly be transformed into a foetid, agglutinative quagmire. The Great Escape is arguably the urban festival by which all others are judged, and after what turned out to be a shorter than anticipated first visit, we can see why. The Great Escape's reputation is well deserved, it's a festival that's welcoming, extremely well organised [...]
Kids of the Apocalypse made QUITE the splash on the music blogosphere early in 2013 with their heart-thumping single "Masters of the Sun." Little remains to be known of the band other than this Facebook page and their dynamite website, but what else do we really need? To follow up their ... Read More

As mentioned , Peter Hook and his band The Light have moved on from performing Joy Division albums in full to now doing the first two New Order albums, 1981's Movement and 1983's Power, Corruption and Lies . He actually sang lead on two Movement songs, so maybe it's slightly less outrageous as it first sounds. He's just announced a North American tour of that which stops in NYC on September 13 at Webster Hall . Tickets for that show go on sale Wednesday (5/22) [...]

photos by Robert Altman Josh Ritter @ Terminal 5 - 5/18/13 In "Lights," the concluding track of Josh Ritter 's new album The Beast In Its Tracks , Ritter sings "Every heart on Earth is dark half the time," an apt line that seems to sum up Ritter's unique brand of potent folk/rock and poetic lyric. Ritter, a realistic romantic, paints extraordinary love songs with settings that range from an Egyptian tomb to a government controlled missile silo, but balances [...]
