Something I have actually said... "If you don't like Mergence you can get the heck out of my house... sir!". Granted I just said it about 5 minutes ago, and it was completely out of context. But the fact remains, I would definitely kick someone out of my house for not liking Mergence. So keep that in mind when you are picking places to spend your Memorial Day weekend. My house is a decidedly "Pro-Mergence" house.

"Nothing to Give" is the result of a collaboration between Polish duo Rebeka (Iwona Skwarek and Bartosz Szczęsny) with Portuguese producer Mirror People (aka Rui Maia). The single is taken from their forthcoming EP "Nothing to Give" to be released via the Portuguese label D.I.S.C.O. Texas tomorrow, May 24. It is not the first time that the nice people from "Texas"label are releasing material from Polish artists. If you remember, they have previously released Rebeka's beautiful track "Stars" and Kamp's modern classic "Cairo." This new work has arrived just on time before the beginning [...]
Locksmith breathes life into "Fleming Street," one of the best cuts from The Green Box , with a new visual. This song and video is dedicated to his mom (may she rest in peace) and any one who has lost someone to violence." For all our New Yorkers, Lock's performing tonight at HOT97 "Who's Next?!" concert series at SOBs. Tickets and info can be found here .
Watch Generationals run through the city of...I'm not sure what city, but I'm going to assume New Orleans and if I'm wrong you can write me a citation.

There are so many bands on the cusp of success; some bands make it, some bands don't. For a band to make it, they need to have their ducks in a row and um, all of their eggs in one basket. Robby Hunter Band has done these things-not recklessly but quietly and methodically. Their music is beach-tinged, summer heaven with hints of Caribbean flare. The video below is funny and self-aware and right in time for the season of the sun. This is music for you to zone out to with a Corona and [...]
"Dogtown" is a nickname for the Germantown neighborhood in Philadelphia that Theodore Grams hails from. You can see some of it in the video above, but maybe more importantly, you can see Grams in glow ... read more

From that screen-grab Caveman' s new music video doesn't look like a total nightmare, but you know the best horror movies always start with some unsuspecting rubes. Julia Stiles ( 10 Things I Hate About You) , Fran Kranz ( Dollhouse ), and Michael Cavadias star in a short film set to Caveman's "In The City" from the band's self-titled sophomore album . Stiles and Kranz's trip to the Big Apple takes a creepy turn when the couple checks into small hotel with a bellhop whose skin-crawling fetish will forever make you check behind the curtains [...]
Planet Online builds around a chilling Robot Rock style vocoder, using a repetitive lyrical centrepiece to navigate through the song's gritty progression in style. The video is definitely worth a look too, and depicts all sorts of major online icons in the form of throwback toy commercials. Genius! You can grab Neosignal 's official release May 27 packaged with a second original, and remixes from Culprate , Rockwell , and Rawtekk . Neosignal on: SoundCloud | Facebook | Twitter [...]

Wasilla, Alaska's own Portugal. The Man have some wholesome, child-like fun in the video for "Atomic Man", off their forthcoming album, Evil Friends . Director David Vincent Wolf uses some time delays and editing tricks to create trippy visuals (e.g. the band's eyes sliding down their faces, their heads turning into amorphous blobs.) Still, it's the mature, high-art version of when most of us learned to distort our voices by speaking into a fan, except this one breaks psyches and not tongues. The band's Danger Mouse-produced seventh album, Evil Friends , [...]

Electronic brothers Octa Push offer up a heady infusion of dance genres with a new track that culminates in one heady, addictive mix. With a helping-hand from Alex Klimovitsky of fellow-garagers Youthless , the Lisbon siblings adopt a thick helix of sounds: an intuitive beat, relentless glockenspiel line and genuinely catching chorus melody helps the song to sit somewhere between Peter Gabriel and those good bits of Delphic . Get a bit lost in the hypnotic visuals for 'Françoise Hardy' below - [...]
Melbourne producer Mark Zito aka Fractures , aired his latest dreamy single, 'Twisted' a few months back. After ascending The Hype Machine chart at a rapid rate and piquing interest in his native Oz; Fractures returns again today with news of a debut EP - set for release this summer - as well as these emotionally intense visuals for 'Twisted'. Composed of softly repeating guitar, padding beats and aqueous bass ripples - all crowned by his hauntingly delicate murmurs - 'Twisted' is the kind of pristine, down-tempo experimental slither James Blake [...]

Fresh off a string of west coast tour dates supporting the likes of Kate Nash and Laura Stevenson and The Cans, Portland indie pop duo Dresses premiere a new song titled “Back To Life” in fluorescent fashion. Some describe the duo's music as "dream-pop" which I suppose is a pretty accurate description, but the reality is my obsession over them is far from a dream. In fact, with their artistic depth that clearly comes from a myriad of personal experience and influences from the Golden Age of music, Dresses is a treasure. [...]

V V Brown is back. Her songs are just so flagrantly intelligent, mixing her gift for making the personal sound universal (and slyly but not overtly political) with her own unique approach to melodic singing. V.V. is close enough to the edge of pop mainstream to work, but far enough to make you realize that she certainly is not your cookie-cutter songstress. KKS is excited to announce her return to music with details of lead single ‘Samson’ taken from her forthcoming highly anticipated second studio album ‘Samson and Delilah.’ 'Samson' initiates a new [...]

This morning, Metallica added fuel to their fiery hype machine by releasing an official full-length trailer for their forthcoming 3D film, Through the Never . As previously reported , the part concert film, part suspense thriller was written and directed by Nimród Antal ( Kontroll , Predators ) and stars Dane DeHaan ( Chronicle , The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ) as a “young band crew member who is sent out on an urgent mission while the band is playing a rousing live set in front of a sold-out crowd and unexpectedly finds his world turned completely upside down.” Judging [...]
It goes without saying that HearYa are big fans of Joe Pug. We've had him pay us a visit two times - here and here . Not to mention that Shirk produced his first album. He's about as genuine guy as you'll meet in the business, always ready with a smile. Here's the story about the video and some tour dates. When Joe Pug relocated from Chicago to Austin, TX in 2010 he certainly knew he was heading to a part of the country that had musical history without peer. What he didn't know [...]
