With its 808s -esque blip-bloop bouncing along and a distorted guitar riff giving the track a certain edginess beneath Kanye's rhymes, this My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy cut didn't quite make it off the Hawaiian cutting room floor. Frankly, I'm not sure where the song would've fit into the retail tracklist without sounding sorely out of place. In fact, before doing a quick Google search, I thought this was a leak from Watch the Throne , as the overall feel of "Eyes Closed" was [...]

As 2k11 begins, the DJs of WQHS bring you their top albums of the past year Check out our entire list after the jump: [photo via hipsterpuppies.tumblr.com ] 10. Vampire Weekend- Contra Vampire Weekend is known for creating contradictions. Its very identity is a paradox; the group formed on the Upper West Side with a sound inspired by African popular music. (This tension is perfectly encapsulated in the title of “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa,” a song [...]

Seeing how our staff has distinct tastes and opinions on music, it would be nearly impossible for us to determine a 10 Albums of 2010 list as a single entity without excessive bloodshed. Therefore over the past two weeks, we’ve been posting multiple Top 10 Albums of 2010 lists as determined by Loud Loop Press editors and contributors. Today, Loud Loop founder and editor-in-chief Richard Giraldi finally decides to get with the program and reveals his list for Top 10 Albums of 2010. 10. [...]

Oh where was this lil' cretin when her album was on its way to Bricksville ? Overused, like most new artists, Nicki Minaj still found a way to steal the show and raise the fee for her appearances (just ask Usher, Luda and Trey Songz). But the fireworks were still soon to come, when she was asked to attend the imaginary festivities for Kanye's illustrious 5th album . Even with Jay-Z, Rick Ross and 'Ye himself all automatically getting star power billing, Nicki refused to be neglected, and with her obvious determination in mind, she [...]

No. 2: Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy In 2009 - a year in which he released no music at all - due to the now infamous SwiftGate incident, Kanye West cemented his place as one of the most fascinating people in show business. Two US Presidents have felt the need to air their comments about him and newspapers, magazines, music sites and blogs the world over have spent the last 18 months trying to keep up with his every move. Which is all well and good. But, what about the [...]
![Kanye West - Monster (Ft. Rick Ross, Jay-Z & Nicki Minaj) [Music Video + Mp3]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3079912_lg.jpg)
2010 was a big year for Kanye West . A new breakthrough full-length record that's commanded close to sweeping critical acclaim and cinematic 30-minute art-driven film accompaniments; all part of a winning formula. Just to end the year Yeezy beasted on right, the [rough] music video for the track "Monster" has found its way to the internet. Watch the horror film inspired video here and download the track below.
Kanye West’s video for his single “Monster” (featuring cameos by Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj and Justin Vernon of Bon Iver) has hit YouTube in a very rough phase of its edit. The obviously NSFW clip, which features all sorts of gore and zombie, dominatrix, slave, decapitated heads, etc. in its visuals, isn't nearly done, [...]

Just when it seemed safe to bet that Kanye was done for 2010, the Internet gods have granted the world with the "Monster" video. Albeit, this is an rough cut akin to watching a bootleg movie but we know that won't stop most from clicking play just to see what Kanye and friends did with one of the most charged tracks from Fantasy... . H/T: 2L's

I'm taking a break from tweaking the new layout for this, the official video for KanYe West's 'Monster' featuring Nicki Minaj, rick Ross, Jay-Z & Bon Iver. Directed by Jake Nava, watch it while it's up: Yes, will update with one with better sound as soon as it hits the interwebz.

In my perfect world, Kanye's upcoming moves to continue to promote his 4.5 Cig effort would go down like this: - Drop the video "Monster" on New Year's Day. - Perform "All Of The Lights" at the Grammys with all 11 artists. - Follow up with the video for "Devil In A New Dress." - Close with a video for "Blame Game" (which would tie into "Devil...") Seeing as how Mr. West has always marched to the beat with his own [...]

HCM’s Top 25 of 2010 #5 When you are on top of the world, it seems that the media tries its best to bring you back down to reality. Kanye West miraculously peaked, bottomed out and climbed back to the top of the Entertainment Industry all in the span of 1 year. After small stints of traveling the world and taking himself out of the spotlight, ‘Ye emerged just in time for the summer with the huge hit, “Power”. Hip Hop got it’s King back [...]
With "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" showing up on pretty much every best albums of the year list, Kanye caps off the end of an amazing year for the guy with a Christmas tune. Personally, I still love "808s" a whole hell of a lot more than MBDTF, but that might just be me. MBDTF is a good, that's for sure, but one of the best albums of the last ten years? I don't fucking think so. This new Christmas jam though is really fucking good, and it actually feels Christmassy with about 243 people guesting on it. [...]

So the acclaim for MBDTF has spiraled out of control. The amount of praise of Kanye West's latest album has become a national epidemic for which there is nor will be a vaccine (check Muzjiks in the coming days for more on that). What hasn't been mentioned enough, in my opinion, is the structural formation of some of these album tracks and tracks included in Yeezy's "Good Friday" series. I have personally never seen anything like this. These are hip-hop jazz epics. The man has collected what he has dubbed the [...]

Recalling the days Kanye West used to kick about the college playground, Christmas In Harlem, West's festive CyHi Da Prince and Teyana Taylor-featuring NYC anthem splices together retro soul samples, and a final third that sounds uncannily akin to Outkast's Ms. Jackson. And features the lyrics: "I got a gift for ya that ain't for the kids to see" and "Won't you come sit on my knee? Tell me everything you want cos baby, I'm your Santa Claus." Kanye West - Christmas In Harlem by Pretty Much Amazing

Kanye West Blame Game (Feat John Legend) Fine Kanye, you win this round (as in song)…
Recently, I read this article about how Amazon was selling My Beautiful Dark And Twisted Fantasy for $3.99. Basically the article read like this: "Blah blah blah Amazon MP3s are $3.99." I immediately scooted over the Amazon to see if I could grab some cheap albums. At this point, buying the physical copies is getting to be a hassle and I just want to put my money up to help support artists. When I got there I saw that almost every album I was [...]
